  • Patent number: 5964299
Abstract: A hand held grass edging tool includes a substantially flat blade having a top edge, an opposite generally inwardly disposed, v-shaped bottom edge and a pair of opposite side edges extending therebetween, each of the side edges including a generally inwardly disposed, v-shaped portion recessed substantially horizontally into the blade to open laterally out of the blade and having an upper side edge segment with an upper side edge segment lower end and extending upwardly and outwardly for moving strands of grass against the ground and bearing against and severing the strands of grass as the blade advances into the ground, and having a lower side edge segment intersecting the upper side edge segment lower end and extending downwardly and outwardly from the upper side edge segment lower end; the bottom edge and the v-shaped portion of the side edges including a beveled cutting edge; and a handle having a lower end secured to the top edge of the blade and an opposite top gripping portion.

  • Patent number: 4834342
Abstract: A nail driver comprising a generally T-shaped body having a barrel, a hollow plunger slidably reciprocable in the barrel, a rigid stem on the body extending centrally along the inside of the barrel into the hollow plunger, a spring biasing the plunger to an extended position forward past the front end of the barrel, a magnet tip loosely coupled pivotally to the stem at its front end and having saw teeth on the bottom, and an insert carried by the plunger and having saw teeth on the top. With the magnet tip holding a nail extending lengthwise inside the barrel and the front end of the plunger held against the object into which a nail is to be driven, when the body is pushed forward along the plunger toward that object, the saw teeth on the magnet tip ride bumpily across the saw teeth on the insert, causing the magnet tip and the nail it holds to vibrate up and down as it is driven into the object.

  • Patent number: 4730860
Abstract: A common shovel is equipped with a spring activated vibrator. The vibrator is mounted between the handle and the blade. A downward thrust of the handle causes the blade to vibrate. This vibration increases the digging efficiency of the shovel.

  • Patent number: 4597119
Abstract: Suntanning device with a frame for supporting a person seeking sun exposure. The frame is rotatably supported on a support structure, so that the person resting on the frame can conveniently turn his body about a vertical axis of rotation while suntanning, and thereby gain an even sun exposure for best suntanning results. In the preferred embodiment, a drive mechanism is provided which slowly rotates the frame. The drive mechanism may contain a wind-up spring or an electric motor, or may be based on a gravity drive mechanism with a circular, downward sloping ramp. In one embodiment the suntanning device is made of inflatable parts that can be collapsed for easy transport. Another embodiment has an articulated frame and folding legs for easy transport.
