  • Patent number: 11709277
Abstract: A method for detecting time rollovers is disclosed. The method may include receiving time data including week data and second data and processing the time data to generate a first date. The method may include generating, based on the first date and an offset value, a second date and obtaining, when the second date is prior to a baseline date, a network date. The method may include assigning the network date as the baseline date and processing the network date and the first date to determine an updated offset value. The method may include storing the updated offset value as the offset value and determining, based on the network date, a system date.
    Type: Grant
    Filed: March 23, 2020
Date of Patent: July 25, 2023
    Assignee: Caterpillar Inc.
Inventors: Michael L. Peterson, Andrew Thomas Elliott, William Edwin Peterson, David Louis Rottier, Michael Aaron Caruthers

  • Patent number: 8782960
Abstract: On a roof having a raised seam, a method of securing a cable comprises extending a first run of cable in a direction generally parallel to the raised seam. In accordance with the method a cover is accessed having a channel dimensioned to receive the cable therein. The cover is installed on the roof at the raised seam. The cable is secured in the channel of the cover.

  • Patent number: 8182585
Abstract: A system and method for controlling dust and/or odors comprises a blower unit and baffle member deployed downstream of the blower unit. The blower unit comprises a fan propelled mister with a discharge tube and a fan disposed in the discharge tube adapted for drawing air into the discharge tube and creating a high velocity air flow exiting therefrom. The discharge tube has a plurality of nozzles and a fluid source is placed in communication with the nozzles such that the nozzles discharge fluid particles that are entrained in a high velocity air flow exiting from the discharge tube distal end. A baffle member is deployed downstream of the blower unit at an elevation above the blower unit so as to alter a flow path of ambient air flowing through a discharge path of the blower unit.

  • Publication number: 20090166444
Abstract: A blower unit has a base, a frame extending upward from the base and a fan propelled mister attached to the frame. The fan propelled mister comprises a fan, a discharge tube, and a plurality of nozzles operatively connected to a fluid intake for creating a mist. A rigid frame, mobile engine-powered machine having a lift arm with a mount is provided. An attachment is also provided having a first surface with a coupling portion adapted to secure the attachment to the mount on the lift arm and a second surface with a coupling portion adapted to secure the attachment to the base. The attachment is mounted to the lift arm with the first coupling portion of the first surface, and to the base with the second coupling portion of the second mounting surface. The blower unit and attachment and methods of use of the same are described.

  • Publication number: 20070186778
Abstract: A system and method for suppressing dust and/or odors. The system includes a fan-propelled mister that propels air through one or more discharge tubes to create a high velocity airflow. A misting ring having a plurality of nozzles adjacent the end of the discharge tube acts to create a mist of small fluid particles. In one embodiment, the misting ring includes a first set of nozzles for generating a mist having fluid particles of a first size for controlling or suppressing dust and a second set of nozzles for generating a mist having fluid particles of a second set for suppressing odor. The system may also include one or more high pressure hoses to saturate a particular area or zone. The mister may also be adjusted to direct the output and/or oscillate to cover a greater area.

  • Publication number: 20060108200
Abstract: A method of distributing and assembling a conveyor belt cleaner comprises manufacturing a first key component at a first point of fabrication in a longer than needed standard length, obtaining a first common component at a second point of fabrication, cutting the first key component to a desired length, and assembling the first key component with the first common component at the second point of fabrication. The method further comprises manufacturing a second key component at the first point of fabrication and assembling the second key component with the first common component at the second point of fabrication. In another aspect of the invention, the key components are manufactured into desired lengths and are sold as part of kit to be assembled to by the end user of the conveyor belt cleaner.
