Abstract: Audio recordings and programs are saved as audio files on a digital storage unit in a language learning system comprising student units connected to the digital storage unit. The digital storage unit is provided with a audio interface controller (201) having a dedicated input/output RAM buffer (B1-B63) for each student station. Each RAM buffer has an associated file which is either a fixed file or can be defined for each case. When the audio interface controller (201) receives a record command relating to a specific buffer, the controller (201) opens an audio file associated with the specific buffer, buffers the audio data received from a student station or another source in the buffer, and transfers the contents of the specified buffer to the opened associated audio file.

Abstract: An operating system is arranged to provide system services to an application requesting them, the services being selected from a predetermined system service group. The operating system includes main memory allocation logic, mass memory allocation logic, an application interface, via which the application program can request system services from the operating system, and application installation and execution logic for installing the application and for specifying its identifier. For preventing malicious programs, the inventive operating system comprises, instead of or in addition to a conventional user privilege administrator, an application privilege administrator responsive to a request for a system service transmitted by the application over the application interface. The application privilege administrator is arranged to administer the application privilege group such that it includes the right to use a subgroup of said system service group.

Abstract: An arrangement in a conductor track, the conductor track having a connection groove extending in the longitudinal direction of the track for connecting devices to the conductor track by way of an adapter, current conductors arranged in the connection groove in the longitudinal direction thereof for supplying power by way of the adapter to the devices connected to the conductor track, and at least one signal conductor arranged in the conductor track for supplying by way of the adapter a control signal, such as a bus control signal, to the device connected to the conductor track. To achieve a simple and esthetically advantageous solution, at least one signal conductor is arranged in the connection groove of the conductor track, and a partition wall of electrically conductive material is arranged between the signal conductor and the current conductor.

The track adapter (10) includes a housing (14) and a housing base (12) having a slot (72) formed therein. An electrical contact (20, 220) has an elongated leg (120, 240) which is received through the slot (72) such that a first end (154) of the contact (20, 220) terminates within the housing (14). The electrical contact (20, 220) is movable within the slot (72) between a lower position in which the electrical contact (20, 220) contacts the voltage bus (42) of a first electrical circuit within the track (22) when the adapter (10) is mounted to the track, and an upper position in which the electrical contact (20, 220) contacts the voltage bus (43) of a second electrical circuit within the track.

To ensure an electric contact, at least one wall portion is arranged to a cover portion of the adapter portion at each slit edge connector, which wall portion is arranged to press the conductor into a slit of the slit edge connector when the cover portion is put in place.

Abstract: An improved connector is disclosed for a track lighting system in which a light fixture is physically and electrically connected to a track. The track is elongated and defines a central longitudinal passageway. A voltage bus, a neutral bus, and a grounding element are disposed within the central longitudinal passageway. Means disposed above the central longitudinal passageway define a pair of opposing channels. The connector comprises a housing and a flange extending from the housing. The flange is received within an end of the central longitudinal passageway of the track by way of an interference fit, and the flange has electrical contacts for engaging the voltage bus, the neutral bus, and the grounding element disposed within the central longitudinal passageway. The connector further includes a tongue extending from the housing spaced apart from and generally parallel to the flange and having edge portions which engage the opposing channels of the track in an interference fit.
