  • Patent number: 5992145
Abstract: The method for preventing the interruption of tension during connection and disconnection of a first hydraulic motor to and from the power train of vehicles, in particular loaders, consists in that during the disconnection of the first hydraulic motor the high-pressure line is connected with the low-pressure line thereof, a flow distributor is readjusted so that the amount of oil fed to the first hydraulic motor is not increased, the pressure on a second hydraulic motor not to be disconnected being raised to a new value which remains constant during the disconnection, of the first hydraulic motor, a pump is readjusted to the new required (reduced) flow rate; and after adjustment of the pump to the new flow rate, the connection of the high-pressure line with the low-pressure line of the first hydraulic motor is eliminated; and during the connection of the hydraulic motor said method steps are carried out in reverse sequence.

  • Patent number: 5839984
Abstract: The invention relates to a drive system for a motor vehicle, in particular for a construction machine. A hydrostatic transmission unit comprising a variable displacement pump (25), a variable displacement motor (1) and a feed pump (26), is connected downstream of a diesel motor (24). In order to change gears in a powershiftable planetary transmission unit (2), gear-shift valves (34, 40) are provided. A brake (14) can be operated by a brake switching valve (30). The brake switching valve (30) is connected via line sections (33, 39) to the gearshift valves. When the brake switching valve (30) is in one switching position, a reservoir (37) is filled with hydraulic fluid. When in another switching position, a connection is made between the reservoir and a brake pressure chamber (20). During normal running of the machine, the reservoir is filled constantly with hydraulic fluid. When the brakes are operated, an adjustable residual pressure always acts on the brake. The brake is designed for dynamic deceleration.

  • Patent number: 5779588
Abstract: The invention concerns a lifting equipment drive consisting of a drive motor, a brake (6) and a dual-stage planetary transmission (9). Both planetary gear sets (8, 10) have helical gearing. The sun gear (15) of the second planetary gear set (10) has a floating mounting in a hub carrier (17) or a hub (21, 23) via a bearing (16) which takes up axial and radial forces. The suggested set-up reduces the axial installation length. The sun gears (7, 15) of the planetary gear sets (8, 10) can adapt to various load ratios. The helical gearing of the planetary transmission (9) prevents low frequency vibrations which could be transmitted into the lift, particularly for long cable lengths, where they could be detected as a disturbing humming noise.

  • Patent number: 5746509
Abstract: The invention concerns a hydrostatic-mechanical gear for driving a mixed drum and, in particular, the drum of a concrete mixer vehicle. Cooling is provided for by the continuous removal of oil from a high pressure circuit, via a connecting pipe, and the constant feeding of the cooled oil, which has passed through an oil cooler, to the interior of a gear housing via a pipe. This pipe discharges into the interior of the gear housing immediately proximate a hydraulic motor. The oil then flows through the hydraulic motor, which is preferably a slow-speed radial piston motor, to reduce the noise generation of the hydraulic motor.

  • Patent number: 5306215
Abstract: A drive device specially used in mobile excavators, wheeled loaders and similar work machines contains a power-shiftable transmission (4) designed as planetary transmission and driven by a hydraulic motor (3). The transmission (4) preferably has two speed levels which are alternatively engageable and disengageable via hydraulically shiftable friction clutches (12, 13). Both friction clutches (12, 13) are designed as spring-accumulator clutches and are controllable by oil pressure generated by an oil pump (21) and both friction clutches (12, 13) are controlled via a gear-shift valve (23). One of the two friction clutches (13) is designed as brake and has a static, leakage-oil-free oil supply. When the oil pressure generated by the oil pump (21) falls below a specific value, the gear-shift valve (23) is engaged into its 2nd-gear position in which only the brake is actuatable with oil pressure.

  • Patent number: 5251878
Abstract: To improve the smoothness in running in a lifting equipment drive having an engine, one brake and one multi-stage planetary transmission, the input planetary gear set is helical cut and the second planetary gear set is straight cut. In addition, the input shaft is divided between the sun gear of the input planetary gear set and the brake by a clutch with a longitudinal balance, and the input shaft portion on the side of the sun gear is supported over a fixed ball bearing in the planet carrier of the second planetary gear set. By disconnecting the planetary transmission from the brake and the drive stimulations to vibrations are avoided.

  • Patent number: 4583425
Abstract: A driving mechanism, specially for use as tractor motor or servomotor, is made specially compact and makes possible the use of a simple, flat main wheel such as a sprocket. The compact construction is obtained by a few structural parts mostly made of one piece such as a hollow wheel for torque delivery and assembly of the main wheel driven by the mechanism and a hub support for carrying the hollow wheel and gear cap with simultaneous support for part of the gearing. A sound-insulated hydromotor is accommodated in the interior of the driving mechanism, a safety brake surrounds part of the hydromotor so as to result in a space-saving construction. Since the driving mechanism is axially not longer than the width of a tractor chain, it remains well protected when it serves as driving motor in a caterpillar vehicle.
