  • Patent number: 7068676
Abstract: A wireless terminal device includes a wireless interface part having an interface with a wireless transmission path at a physical layer, a link forming part accessing the wireless transmission path via the wireless interface unit and forming a particular link on the wireless transmission path, and a transmission/reception part transmitting and/or receiving transmission information via the particular link formed by the link forming part. The wireless transmission path is formed as a physical channel to which a CSMA system is applied. The CSMA system secures a given transmission quality with respect to a total of the number of links concurrently formable and the amount of the transmission information. The link forming part forms the particular link on the wireless transmission path when initiated.

  • Publication number: 20040122700
Abstract: A network monitor center monitors states of a switch such as an M/C, EPON or the like, a router/sw, etc. that configure a network, and transmits a result of monitoring to a Web portal server; the Web portal server indicates, based on the result of the monitoring by the network monitor center, a content distribution server to change a resolution rate; and a charge center imposes a charge based on a result of having changed the resolution rate.

  • Patent number: 6205148
Abstract: An apparatus and a method for selecting an access router's protocol from a plurality of protocols in a communication system including first and second access routers for transferring a packet between the access routers according to the selected protocol. The packet is originated/terminated by users having a user address assigned and accommodated in the respective access routers. Storage is provided in the apparatus for storing a protocol type of the access router corresponding to the user address. The first access router issues a protocol request signal including the user address. The apparatus receives the protocol request signal and referring to the storage, responds to the signal with the protocol type of the second access router accommodating the user having the user address included in the request signal. The first access router, selects a protocol common to the first and second access routers to transfer the packet based on the response.

  • Patent number: 6046989
Abstract: A multicast connection management system includes: a registration unit for searching, in response to a request issued from a subscribing multicast service user for registration of connection, an originating user management table for connection information of a circuit carrying the request so as to retrieve a pointer indicating one of target user connection management tables, and for registering a requested target address and circuit information of a target user assigned the requested target address; and a transmission unit for transmitting, when the subscribing multicast service user supplies user data, the user data to the target user assigned the target address registered in the target user connection management table means indicated by the pointer obtained by searching the originating user management table means. With this arrangement, multicast communication with a plurality of registered users assigned respective target addresses and dynamic updating of a multicast connection group are provided.

  • Patent number: 5946670
Abstract: A data switching device includes a switch which performs a switch operation on data transferred via the data switching device. The switch forms a permanent link connecting terminals permanently. A charge information management unit manages charge information concerning a quantity of information transferred via the permanent link. A control unit sends one of the terminals a notification message including the charge information according to a predetermined sequence.

  • Patent number: 5920560
Abstract: In one embodiment of a multi-connection management method, a management area is prepared for each of the interfaces. A call control memory stores the management information of a leaf interface, statuses of connections, leaf interface information and link information. A whole leaf interface management area is stored with the link information of the leaf management areas. The leaf management area for each interface is stored with the information of the corresponding interface and the link information. In another embodiment, connection status for a fixed-connection communication of a multicast is confirmed. This includes a communication controller that receives a status confirmation demand message sent by terminals and demands a multicast server for information collection, if the message is the status confirmation demand message which is effective for the protocol regulations.

  • Patent number: 5737321
Abstract: A multimedia teleconference system serving sound data to an existing telephone terminal as well as multimedia terminals, and makes the existing telephone terminal join in a multimedia telephone conference by the use of sound data. The multimedia teleconference system includes a first multimedia terminal for generating various kinds of media data including at least, sound data. The teleconference system further including a plurality of second multimedia terminals for setting connections corresponding to each of the various kinds of media data, a telephone terminal for receiving only sound data, and a switch for receiving the various kinds of media-data sent from the first multimedia terminal and distinguishing a connection for the sound data and extracting only the sound data transferring on the distinguished connection to send the extracted sound data to the telephone terminal.
