  • Patent number: 6584158
Abstract: An information transmission/reception system includes a radio paging data transmitter equipped with a data segmentation block which segments transmission data into transmission data segmentation units to obtain data segments, and an information identification number addition block which adds a plurality of pieces of identification information to each data segment in order to identify the transmission data. A sequence information addition block adds sequence information to each data segment in the sequence in which it is segmented, and a transmission processing block which performs transmission processing so that data segments to which different identification information is added are assigned within a single data transmission cycle. A radio paging data receiver of the information transmission/reception system is equipped with an information identification number discrimination block which performs the discrimination of data segments from the information identification number.

  • Patent number: 6518823
Abstract: An integrated circuit is provided, in which a one-time programmable logic device disables writing to a storage device on the user side once a current is passed therethrough. The integrated circuit has a flash memory operating as a storage device to/from which writing/erasure is possible when a read/write enable port is in a high level. When a power supply is applied to an external power supply input terminal, a fuse having a polysilicon interconnection pattern is blown after a set time period by the output of a step up regulator circuit. After the fuse is blown, the input of a buffer is fixed to a low level through a resistor, so that the read/write enable port of the flash memory as the output of an AND circuit is fixed to a low level and the flash memory becomes a read only memory.

  • Publication number: 20020082083
Abstract: An information communication electronic device such as a portable game machine and a method having a display unit which displays a change in a content of information when the electronic device is moved by a user. The electronic device also has a movement detection unit and a control unit. When a movement is made in a predetermined direction by dX in the horizontal direction and dY in the vertical direction, the portable game machine causes the representative point for main image data to move in that predetermined direction and without changing the movement-system coordinates on the display unit the control unit changes its absolute coordinates by (+dX,+dY) and displays the change on the display unit.

  • Publication number: 20020015050
Abstract: Provided is a system for electronically creating a sequence of still-frame images such as a comic strip from an already broadcast or shown animated cartoon and providing them to a user comprising: a frame information generating apparatus and an information providing apparatus. The frame information generating apparatus generates digital still-frame image information electronically based on the animated cartoon. The information providing apparatus provides to a user the still-frame image information thus generated. With this configuration, most of frames of the animated cartoon can almost be handled in the digital information processing field without being converted into paper media. The still-frame image information is electronically distributed to the information processing device of users through the existing broadcasting infrastructure or communication infrastructure.

  • Patent number: 6329787
Abstract: Data can be received by a battery charging device while a portable information terminal powered by a secondary battery is connected to the battery charging device to charge the secondary battery. For data reception, the battery charging device has a tuner as a data reception circuit. While the portable information terminal is mounted in the battery charging device, the secondary battery is charged by the battery charging device, and the tuner receives a television wave containing a data broadcast. Data multiplexed in a video signal outputted from the tuner is decoded by a data decoding circuit, and stored into a data storage device of the portable information terminal. The data stored in the data storage device can be reproduced on a liquid crystal display unit of the portable information terminal when it is detached from the battery charging device.

  • Publication number: 20010014623
Abstract: A recording medium 10 is provided with a read only memory 12 having a program recorded therein and a non-volatile memory 13 in which a virgin code is written when it is under non-use state. When an information processing device 50 detects the virgin code, it writes the ID code thereof. The information processing device 50 does not read out any program from a recording medium which is not the recording medium 10 in which the ID code thereof is recorded. Therefore, the program can be executed only by the information processing device which is registered in the recording medium 10, whereby the association between the recording medium and the specific information processing device can be strengthened.
