  • Patent number: 4574370
Abstract: A stopper projects radially outward from the periphery of a rotary turn table and a plurality of selection poles are disposed such that any one of the selection poles, when depressed, projects into the locus of rotation of the stopper. A spring fabricated to have energizing pieces, the same in number as the number of selection poles, is positioned within a casing so that two mating parts can engage with each other. Each energizing piece is made electrically conductive and the spring also urges each selection pole toward the outside of the casing. A metal guide plate holds the selection poles 16 which are disposed along the periphery of the turn table within the casing and further guides the selected selection pole into the locus of rotation of the stopper. The selected selection pole will urge corresponding spring into engagement with the guide plate.

  • Patent number: 4573150
Abstract: A movable contact 4 is fabricated of a spring wire, the halfway portion of which is wound around a pin 5. One lengthwise end of the wire rests on a casing and the other lengthwise end is rested at the halfway portion of an L-shaped lever 6 received by the pin 5, the pin being coaxial with the movable contact 4. A fixed contact 7 is disposed at a position where it can engage the movable contact 4 at its portion halfway between the point rested on the lever 6 and the portion being wound around the pin. A portion or arm of the lever 6 can extend toward and contact a pickup 3 returned to the starting point of sound reproduction. That portion of the lever 6 is spaced from the pin 5 a distance longer than the part or arm of the lever 6 associated with the movable contact 4. By virtue of this construction, the device is able to perform exact switching action without requiring any particular delicate adjustment in connection with the resilient force of each return or coil spring 1.

  • Patent number: 4547873
Abstract: A simplified sound reproducing device having a record disc 5 having a plurality of record grooves is driven by a constant torque spring motor 2. A turntable 3 and the record disc 5 are frictionally assembled so that relative slippage occurs between them in the direction of their rotation when an extra force is applied to the system. A sound reproducing member 10, applying a stylus pressure to a pickup 6, has a holding piece attached thereto which contacts the reverse face of the record disc 5 and stops its rotation when the sound transmitting member 10 is lifted up by tension exerted by a stretched pull string 14, when the string 14 is pulled to wind the constant torque spring motor. By virtue of this construction, the angle of rotation of the turntable 3 and the record disc 5, are shifted from each other so that the introductory part of the record groove, next to the one just completed, can be placed under the pickup 6 now returned to the starting point of sound reproduction, and played.

  • Patent number: 4541085
Abstract: An acoustic playback device includes a plurality of selector bars equal to the number of recording grooves, a plurality of biased stylus-pressure releasing bars, the bars moving against the force of the associated spring as the corresponding selector bar is pushed into engagement with a stopper pin on the record disc to bring the introductory portion of the selected recording groove to a position where it can be engaged by a pickup. A latch plate is axially spaced from the reverse side of the record disc unit. An annular vertical wall is formed on the surface of the latch plate facing the record disc unit. Hooks on the stylus-pressure releasing bars engage the vertical wall when the stylus-pressure releasing bars are moved forward. Stylus-pressure releasing portions formed on the ends of the stylus-pressure releasing bars engage the stopper pin when advanced with the stylus-pressure releasing bars.

  • Patent number: 4486871
Abstract: A continuous repeating type simplified sound reproducing device including on its casing, a fixed locking lever having a locking face parallel to the plane of rotation of a record disc and a rotating locking lever on the record disc which rotates together with the record disc and is able to enter under the locking face of the fixed locking lever only when the record disc is placed at its retracted position. At least one of the locking faces of the two locking members are arranged to have a face length corresponding to the angle of rotation sufficient to maintain the record disc at its retracted position until the record disc has completely returned to the starting point of sound reproduction. By virtue of this construction, satisfactory returning motion of this continuous repeating type sound reproduction device can be assured by a comparatively simplified construction.

  • Patent number: 4482990
Abstract: The sound-reproducing device for playing the record disc has a number of selection poles corresponding to the member of recorded grooves and a stylus force releasing wheel normally urged to a specific direction but which rotated by one of the selection poles to release stylus force on a pickup. The stylus force releasing wheel includes a locking arm confronting the back face of the selection pole in an advanced position for pushing the inclined face of the releasing wheel. Each of the selection poles has a jaw which catches the locking arm and prevents the selection pole when in an advanced position from retraction. A locking device locks the stylus force releasing wheel at the position to which the wheel has rotated. A record disc unit includes a turn table and a record face member disposed in a stacked but axially separable arrangement. A stopper pin is disposed on the record face member.

  • Patent number: 4447898
Abstract: A winding knob and a winding wheel are supported around a center shaft and are rotatable together in the direction of winding and are also axially movable together without causing axial movement of the center shaft by pushing ahead the winding knob. Between a record disc being urged toward a pickup and movable along the center shaft and the winding wheel, there is provided a slippage preventing post which is placed into engagement with a retaining piece provided on the reverse face of the record by operator's winding motion while depressing the knob but is released from such engagement by the operator's subsequent depression of a starting post and the movement of the record disc away from the pickup. When the record disc returns to its initial position by the operator's releasing of depression, the slippage preventing post moves out of engagement with the locking piece.

  • Patent number: 4404667
Abstract: A winding string, when stretched tight, will lift a speaker unit which applies a stylus pressure to a pickup so that the pickup is allowed to reverted back to the starting point of sound reproduction. The stretched string will also lift a plunger carrying a stopper block to axially advance so as to be in engagement with a retainer piece disposed on the record disc. The plunger is normally urged by a first spring toward a direction in that the stopper block may retract away from the engagement with the retainer piece disposed on the record disc. The advanced position of the plunger, at which the stopper block engages the retainer piece is sustained by a lever movable in a see-saw like swing motion. The lever is actuated by the movement of an intermediate starter member initiated by the depression of any one of the selective starter rods provided in number corresponding to that of recorded grooves and thereby releases the record disc from its temporarily stopped condition.

  • Patent number: 4252326
Abstract: A sound reproducing device is driven by an electric motor powered by a cell or battery. The lead wires extending between the battery and the electric motor are securedly connected at their points of junction by either the resilient forces exerted by the lead wires themselves which exhibit spring properties and/or by a biasing force applied by the casing assembly of the reproducing device, itself. Furthermore, the spring-like lead wires are, also, utilized to define a spring acting stop switch operable for both starting and stopping of the sound reproduction, and particularly, to form an electrical switch(es) interconnected with a cover lid. Owing to the simplified construction as mentioned above, the electrical circuit of the device of this kind can be readily arranged in the device accompanied by superior electrical characteristics.

  • Patent number: 4195843
Abstract: The casing of a sound reproducing device defines the upper and lower bearings for directly receiving a shaft of a driving motor, as well as the outer shell for enclosing the rotor of the motor. This arrangement provides a motor assembly without the need for separate outer shell and separate brackets which are ordinarily indispensable with motors. The rotor hereof has a commutator being matingly electrically and slidably contractable with a pair of brushes fabricated from a metal wire. The free end of each wire comprises the brush, and the remaining portion thereof acts as a lead wire integral with the brush. The contact surfaces of the brushes and the commutator can be displaced or shifted by moving the two mating parts relative to each other for preventing defective starting due to poor electrical connection.
