  • Patent number: 8463104
Abstract: There is provided a digital broadcast receiving apparatus comprising an acceptance unit and a change unit. Subsidiary information includes application control information indicating “finishing” or “not finishing” the execution of a data broadcast application by an execution unit when a program included in broadcast program data in playback by a playback unit has been switched to another program. The acceptance unit is configured to accept a continuation instruction indicating continuing the execution of the data broadcast application by the execution unit even after a program included in the broadcast program data in playback by the playback unit is finished. The change unit is configured to, when the application control information has indicated “finishing” and the acceptance unit has accepted the continuation instruction, change the application control information so as to indicate “not finishing” before the program included in the broadcast program data in playback by the playback unit is finished.

  • Patent number: 7460564
Abstract: An editing of a video signal and an audio signal time-shared multiplex compressed by an MPEG-2 transport method designates a dividing position of the video signal at a boundary of video TS packets constituting a GOP, constructing a stream in front of said designated dividing position so as to include all audio TS packets corresponding to video TS packets present in the stream, overwriting a video TS packet, not having a corresponding audio TS packet in the stream, with a dummy TS packet, and overwriting, in a stream behind said designated dividing position, an audio TS packet with a dummy TS packet until an audio TS packet, coinciding with a reproducing timing of a video TS packet at said dividing position, appears. Thus a defective data reproduction resulting from a discontinuity in the data structure of audio frame before and after the dividing position can be avoided.

  • Publication number: 20060187780
Abstract: In an information recording medium, there is a tendency that unevenness in the number of times of access is liable to be generated between an area frequently accessed and an area not frequently accessed, so that a fault such as a write error, a read error, or the like is liable to occur due to physical degradation with time or the like resulting from frequent access to a specific area. Therefore, the numbers of times of recording of respective areas are managed to avoid nonuniformity of the numbers of times.
