  • Patent number: 4969670
Abstract: Non-releasable, molded, large-diameter, corrugated plastic pipe having a wall structure made of high density polyethylene, PVC or polypropylene of sufficient thickness so as to be rigid but elastic and therefore relatively inflexible and having an integral automatically locking female coupling at one end and a cooperative male coupling at its opposite end, with access to its latching members at its exterior, and a method of manufacturing multiples thereof by a continuous molding process. The pipe has a corrugated wall structure. Only minor auxiliary cutting operations are required to separate portions thereof into individual plastic pipe sections, each having the automatic-locking coupling at one of its ends and a male portion at its other end. The coupling is supported on the corrugated pipe by a frusto-conically shaped collar which functions as a guide for proper alignment as two sections of such pipe are united into latched relation.

  • Patent number: 4946206
Abstract: A sealing ring made of an elastomeric readily flowable incompressible material utilized for perfecting a seal between the interior surface of a coupling sleeve and the crest of a rib of a section of corrugated plastic pipe, the sealing ring having a generally flat annular body which in its free form has its major cross-sectional series of axially extending ribs, one of which is located on the inner diametrical surface of the ring for securing the ring within the valley between adjacent ribs on the corrugated pipe, a second rib located on the outer circumferential surface of the ring for primarily sealing between the coupling sleeve and the proximal area of the crest of a rib of the corrugated pipe against infiltration of external fluids and solids, and an intermediate rib for primarily sealing between the coupling sleeve and the distal area of the crest of a rib of the corrugated pipe against the escape of fluids and solids flowing therethrough.

  • Patent number: 4913473
Abstract: Non-releasable, double-walled, molded, large-diameter, corrugated plastic pipe having walls made of high density polyethylene, PVC or polypropylene of sufficient thickness so as to be rigid but elastic and therefore relatively inflexible and having an integral automatically locking female coupling at one end, with access to its latching members at its exterior, and a method of manufacturing multiplex thereof by a continuous molding process. The pipe has a smooth interior wall and a corrugated outer wall integral therewith. Only minor auxiliary cutting operations are required to separate portions thereof into individual plastic pipe sections, each having the automatic-locking coupling at one of its ends. The coupling is supported on the corrugated pipe by a frustoconically shaped collar which functions as a guide for proper alignment as two sections of pipe are united into latched relation.

  • Patent number: 4726490
Abstract: The invention is directed to a safety lid that can be used with a container. The container has a collection cavity having an opening on one end. A shoulder is located in the container adjacent the opening and the shoulder extends around at least a portion of the periphery of the container. The shoulder is disposed to be substantially parallel to the opening. At least one aperture is positioned in the periphery of the container adjacent the opening. A lid is positioned in said opening to close the container. The outer periphery of the lid substantially conforms to the periphery of the opening and the lid engages in and is supported by the shoulder. At least one lug is positioned on the outer periphery of the lid and the lug is disposed to be in alignment with and to extend through the aperture in the periphery of the container. The lug engages the side of the container to prevent the lid from tipping.
