  • Patent number: 8245610
Abstract: A device for cutting bar-shaped or tubular workpieces (1, 27), for example a peeling machine, is presented, in which, for the first time, the advance of the tools (7, 26, 44, 46) is brought about by a relative rotation between a toolholder (3, 25, 45) carrying the tools (7, 26, 44, 46) and an advancing sleeve (4, 24, 47). The toolholder (3, 25, 45) and advancing sleeve (4, 24, 47) are driven via gearwheels (19, 18) arranged on the same gear shaft (17) and having an oppositely oriented helical toothing. By means of an axial movement of the gear shaft (17), a relative rotation between the toolholder (3, 25, 45) and advancing sleeve (4, 24, 47) is achieved on account of the helical toothing. Moreover, it is proposed to use milling cutters (26, 44) as tools.

  • Patent number: 6953136
Abstract: A drawing machine includes a drawing die and a continuously working drawing device, the drawing device comprising only one closed drawing member that is guided around axis-parallel wheels and is driven in a controlled manner via at least one of the wheels. The drawing member is linked with clamping devices carrying clamping chucks that are controlled and moved towards one another and apart from another to grip a wire, tube or profile to be drawn. In an embodiment, the clamping chucks are retained by retainer elements that extend through a drawing element linked with the clamping device.

Abstract: The invention relates to a drawing machine comprising a drawing die (1) and a continuously working drawing device, said drawing device comprising only one closed drawing member that is guided around axis-parallel wheels (4) and is driven in a controlled manner via at least one of the wheels (4). The drawing member is linked with clamping devices (6) carrying clamping chucks (5) that are controlled and moved towards one another and apart from another to grip a wire (7), tube or profile to be drawn. In an embodiment, the clamping chucks (5) are retained by retainer elements (11) that extend through a drawing element (3) linked with the clamping device (6). One clamping chuck (5) each of the clamping chucks linked with the first drawing element (3) interacts with the clamping chuck (5) associated with second drawing element (3).

  • Patent number: 6449999
Abstract: The aim of the invention is to reduce the amount of space and the technical effort required to feed the front end of a wire coil into a wire drawing installation. To achieve this, the arm of the device is formed from a base section and an end section, whereby the end of the base section can pivot around a first pivotal axis and is connected to the base of a rotationally mounted holder and the pivotal axis of the base section runs perpendicular to the axis of rotation of said holder. One end of the end section can pivot around a second pivotal axis and is connected to the other end of the base section. The first and second pivotal axes run parallel to each other. The free end of the end section of the arm supports a head unit that is rotationally mounted around two axes that are located in a normal position to each other. A hook-shaped gripping element and a clamping device which dresses the front end of the wire coil are arranged on said head unit.

  • Patent number: 4879892
Abstract: A continuous drawing machine for drawing elongated material through a die has two drawing carriages each with one pair of jaws to grip the wire. The jaws are wedge-shaped and mounted on their rear side in oblique supports. Once in operation they are self-gripping. A linkage system, comprising an arm extending from each carriage and two cam curves on the machine-frame, controls the initial grip of the jaws on the wire. The two cam curves are formed by an oscillating tongue articulated on the machine frame next to the starting position of the carriage. The arm has a follower-roll that follows the first cam curve and thus clamps the wire. During the return of the carriage the tongue with the two cam curves thereon is pushed away by the follower-roll rolling or sliding with its face along the second cam curve. The tongue snaps back by means of a spring as soon as the follower-roll has passed and again offers the first cam curve to the follower-roll after the reversal of the carriage's moving direction.
