  • Patent number: 9288627
Abstract: A computer-implemented system and method for triggering events is described. A plurality of zones of influence is defined. Each zone of influence is an enclosed space defined by geolocational data. At least one of the zones of influence is associated with an event for performance by a user and a time for the event to occur. A location of the user is identified and compared with the geolocational data for each of the zones of influence. The event and the time for the event to occur for one of the zones of influence are provided to the user when the geolocational data of that zone of influence matches the location of the user.

  • Patent number: 8706399
Abstract: A computer-implemented system and method for triggering events based on user location with respect to zones of influence is described. One or more zones of influence each having a plurality of points of geolocational data are defined. One or more user events are associated with each of the zones of influence. A location of a wireless device is identified based on geolocational data obtained by the wireless device. The geolocational data of the wireless device is compared with the geolocational data for one or more of the zones of influence. The user events associated with one such zone of influence are triggered when the geolocational data of the wireless device correlates with at least one of the points of geolocational data for that zone of influence.

  • Patent number: 8498814
Abstract: A system and method for executing user-definable events triggered through geolocational data describing zones of influence is described. One or more zones of influence are defined. Each zone of influence is described by stored geolocational data and forms a logically enclosed physical space. One or more user-definable events are associated with each zone of influence. Each user-definable event specifies a trigger condition based on the stored geolocational data for the associated zone of influence. A location of a user device is identified based on further geolocational data and at least one user-definable event is triggered when the location of the user device substantially correlates to the stored geolocational data for the trigger condition of the at least one user-definable event.

  • Publication number: 20080065320
Abstract: A system for providing a user-customizable cartridge for use with a wireless computing device is provided. An access module is configured to retrieve a template for a cartridge script. A toolkit is configured to build a scenario based on user instructions. A zone interface is configured to describe geolocational data for defining zones of influence, which each form an enclosed physical space. An event interface is configured to describe trigger conditions for defining a series of events, which are each associated with a zone of influence. A trigger interface is configured to define each trigger condition including a temporal, locational, or independent trigger condition. The zones of influence, series of events, and trigger conditions are stored into the template. A compiler is configured to compile the template into a cartridge script, which is stored into a database. A server is configured to download the cartridge script onto a wireless device.

  • Publication number: 20080059060
Abstract: A method for executing user navigational events triggered through geolocational data describing zones of influence is provided. Data is stored in a cartridge script loadable into a user device. Zones of influence are defined by describing by points of static geolocational data. User navigational events are defined and each user event is associated with a zone of influence. A trigger condition is specified for each user event based on the static data for the associated zone of influence. A scenario is executed by triggering the user events stored on the cartridge script through movement of the user device. A location of the user device is continuously self-identified based on dynamic geolocational data determined in response to the movement. A correlation between the dynamic data and the static data for the zones of influence is determined. The user event associated with a trigger condition is locally triggered based on the correlation.

  • Publication number: 20060277188
Abstract: A system and method for facilitating ad hoc compilation of geospatial data for on-line collaboration is provided. One or more categories under which to store waymarks in a geospatial data sharing database with an exportable schema are dynamically defined. Each waymark associates geospatial data with metadata as an unstructured information cache. At least one variable is dynamically associated with each such category to identify the metadata. One or more attributes specifying a type of metadata storable in identity are defined with each such variable. The categories are published on-line by storing the geospatial data and the metadata as waymarks under one such category and accessing the stored waymarks in response to user requests.
