  • Patent number: 11371788
Abstract: A heat exchanger including a body. The body includes a plurality of heat transfer pathways, and a flushing manifold formed with the body of the heat exchanger. The flushing manifold includes a plurality of nozzles oriented so as to spray a flushing fluid onto, into, or both onto and into one or more of the plurality of heat transfer pathways. A method of flushing particulates from a heat exchanger including supplying a flushing fluid through a flushing manifold formed with a body of a heat exchanger, and spraying the flushing fluid onto, into, or both onto and into one or more heat transfer pathways using one or more nozzles in fluid communication with the flushing manifold.

  • Publication number: 20220024135
Abstract: Systems, methods, and non-transitory computer-readable medium are provided that enable a component to be additively manufactured in a single build with multiple processing strategies. In one example aspect, a model representing a component is decomposed into submodels that each correspond to a subcomponent of the component. Each of the subcomponents can have a preselected metric associated therewith. The model can be decomposed into the submodels based at least in part on the preselected metrics. A set of build parameters is selected or assigned to each of the submodels based at least in part on the preselected metrics associated with the subcomponents. Overlap regions can be defined at each interface between adjacent subcomponents. The build parameters selected for adjacent subcomponents can be used to blend the build parameters for the defined overlap regions. The submodels and the blended build parameters can be used to additively manufacture the component.

  • Publication number: 20200080799
Abstract: Heat exchangers may have a body including a plurality of heat transfer pathways, and a flushing manifold integrally formed with the body of the heat exchanger. The flushing manifold may include a plurality of nozzles oriented so as to spray a flushing fluid onto one or more of the plurality of heat transfer pathways. Methods of flushing particulates from a heat exchanger include supplying a flushing fluid through a flushing manifold integrally formed with a body of a heat exchanger, and spraying the flushing fluid into one or more heat transfer pathways using one or more nozzles in fluid communication with the flushing manifold.

  • Patent number: 10549478
Abstract: The present disclosure generally relates to methods for additive manufacturing (AM) that utilize support surrounding structures in the process of building objects, as well as novel surrounding support structures to be used within these AM processes. The support structure surrounds at least a portion of the object with a continuous thickness of powder disposed between the support structure and the object, the continuous thickness of powder having a maximum thickness that does not exceed 10 mm.

  • Patent number: 10486362
Abstract: The present disclosure generally relates to methods for additive manufacturing (AM) that utilize connecting support structures in the process of building objects, as well as novel connecting support structures to be used within these AM processes. The connecting support structures include two fused connections to the object and an axial direction between the fused connections, a perimeter of fused material about the axial direction, and unfused powder or air completely surrounding the perimeter of fused material.
