  • Patent number: 8708777
Abstract: Apparatus, systems and methods in accordance with the present invention are related to sharpening blades for rotary cutters. In one illustrative embodiment of a system in accordance with the present invention, an elongated sharpening stone is held at a desired angle between underlying support structures on a base and a securing cap. A planar edge of the stone is exposed in an adjustable channel between the stone and a slidably adjustable sidewall. The angle of the sharpening stone corresponds to correct angle for a sharpened edge on a rotary blade disposed on a hand held rotary cutter, which is inserted into the channel. By advancing the cutter through the channel an edge of the rotary blade may be honed and/or sharpened.

  • Publication number: 20070143275
Abstract: Embodiments of the present invention address deficiencies of the art in respect to e-learning and provide a novel and non-obvious method, system and computer program product for contextually invoking e-learning services for work-embedded e-learning. In one embodiment, a method for on-demand work-embedded learning can be provided. The method can include trapping a pre-configured event in an application executing in a host computing platform, and identifying a context for the pre-configured event. The method further can include retrieving e-learning content corresponding to the identified context from a learning management system. Finally, the method can include rendering the retrieved e-learning content in an e-learning content view which is separate from a view for the application in the host computing platform.

  • Publication number: 20070100986
Abstract: A method, system, and computer program product for improving interactive online collaboration using user-defined sensory notification or user-defined wakeups in online collaborative operating environments. The mechanism of the present invention employs user-defined wakeup signals, including sensory notification alerts, to alert the meeting participant when a specific event occurs or specific material has been presented in the online meeting. A user defines an event in the collaborative environment. The mechanism of the present invention monitors the collaborative environment to detect the occurrence of the user-defined event. Upon detecting the occurrence of the user-defined event, the mechanism of the present invention sends a sensory notification to the user to alert the user that the user-defined event has occurred and re-direct the user's attention to the online collaboration.

  • Publication number: 20070100938
Abstract: A method, system, and computer program product for providing participant-centered orchestration/timing of presentations in collaborative environments. With the mechanism of the present invention, participants in an online collaboration environment are allowed to control the real-time presentation of collaboration materials. The mechanism of the present invention polls the participants in the online presentation. When the polling feedback from the participants is received, the polling feedback from each participant is aggregated to form a collective participant response. The pace and/or content of the presentation is then dynamically modified based on the collective participant response. The dynamically modified presentation is then provided to the participants.

  • Publication number: 20070100939
Abstract: A method, system, and computer program product for improving attentiveness and participation levels in online collaborative operating environments. The mechanism of the present invention provides ways that participants can maintain their focus on the collaboration meeting by allowing participants to interact with the presentation and other participants, and determine the structure of the presentation as well. A collaboration presentation is provided to a user, wherein the collaboration presentation includes a plurality of activities, such as simple entertainment activities or interactive tasks. When a user selects a desired activity in the plurality of activities, the mechanism of the present invention provides the desired activity to the user, wherein engaging in the desired activity focuses the user on the collaboration presentation.

  • Publication number: 20070055730
Abstract: A server publishes a poll to one or more attendee clients to an electronic conference. The poll permits each attendee to select one of several choices as the vote of the respective attendee. Initially an attendee may have a default choice assigned to him, for example, undecided. The server may show a hypertext page that includes an image or persona icon of the attendee located within a panel that has the current vote that an attendee has chosen or, by default, been assigned.

  • Publication number: 20050277100
Abstract: An e-learning game generator accesses a learning object repository, a learning object assessment object repository, and a video repository. The video repository includes scenes that are suggestive of success and failure of the student in answering questions from the learning object assessment objects. When a student answers a question correctly, the game generator selects a positive scene from the video repository and presents it to the student; when the student answers a question incorrectly, the game generator selects a negative scene and presents it to the student.

Abstract: A method, system and apparatus for the object-oriented automated user interface testing of an application under test in a functional testing tool. The functional testing tool can include a configuration for producing multiple methods defining interactions with individual elements in a user interface to an application under test. The functional testing tool further can include one or more defined actions grouping selected ones of the methods which are used repeatedly within screens of the application under test. Preferably, at least one task defining a group of related activities in the user interface can be produced in the functional testing tool. Subsequently, a test case can be generated which implements the task with at least one verification point.

  • Publication number: 20050106539
Abstract: A keyword generation system, method and apparatus. The method of the invention can include the steps of locating words and phrases in a selected portion of content, where the words and phrases are specific to a particular domain. The method also can include the step of adding a single instance of each of the located words and phrases to a list of keyword candidates. For each located word and phrase which already had been added to the list of keyword candidates, a counter associated with the located word and phrase can be incremented. Consequently, keywords from the list of keyword candidates can be selected based upon words and phrases in the list having a highest counter value.
