Abstract: The invention features compounds which modulate FGF activity, e.g., by enhancing the binding between FGF-2 and its receptors, e.g., FGF-R1. Also featured is a pharmaceutical composition containing one or more of the compounds, a method of treating an injury or a disease e.g., stroke, congenital hypogonadotropic hypogonadism, and viral infection, and a method of increasing spermatogenesis using the pharmaceutical composition.

Method includes receiving a DNS query for a host name from an application on client; retrieving reputation data associated with host name from a local cache on client; and determining a policy based on host name and the reputation data. Based on determined policy for the host name, blocking attempted network flows to a host corresponding to host name to produce blocked attempted network flows. Method also includes sending attempted network flow metadata related to the blocked attempted network flows to a collector on client; transmitting the attempted network flow metadata from the collector to a VPN server pool via a VPN tunnel; and producing an anomaly report from the transmitted attempted network flow metadata. The anomaly report includes at least one of anomalies, cohorts, trends, location boundaries, detected network security issues, detected compromised clients and/or optimized network usage.

Abstract: A piezoelectric sensor and amplifier for use with an auditory aid device are disclosed. The piezoelectric sensor includes a top sensor and a bottom sensor disposed on opposite surfaces of a flex printed circuit board. The top and bottom sensors are made of a piezoelectric material, such as PVDF. Further, the piezoelectric sensor is adapted to be implanted into a subject's ear, where the piezoelectric sensor is cantilevered with the free, or distal end, touching the umbo. The proximal end is held in place by a support that is affixed to the ear. Additionally, the piezoelectric sensor is shaped so that the width of the distal end is less than the width at the proximal end. Further, the piezoelectric sensor generates differential signals, which are then amplified using a differential amplifier circuit.

Abstract: The present disclosure involves a system for monitoring patients, and more specifically post-operative patients receiving narcotics/sedatives/opioids, and a novel apparatus for automatically delivering one or more substances such as a reversing agent, including but not limited to the agent commonly known as naloxone, in response to dangerous respiratory conditions such as respiratory depression or other undesired consequences caused by reaction to another dosage being delivered to the subject.
