  • Patent number: 11886236
Abstract: A desktop platform for use with virtual, augmented or mixed reality technology is provided. The platform includes a plurality of camera sections, a keyboard section, a trackpad section, a screen section, and means for supporting a user input device.
    Type: Grant
    Filed: June 27, 2019
Date of Patent: January 30, 2024
    Assignee: ROTO VR LIMITED
    Inventors: Elliott Myers, Gavin Waxkirsh
  • Patent number: 11175732
Abstract: An apparatus for virtual reality simulation includes a first base part and a second base part arranged to rotate relative to each other about a common axis. The apparatus also includes means for determining an angle between the first base part and the second base part. The second base part may be provided with a chair on which a user of the apparatus may sit during use of the apparatus. The means for determining an angle between the first base part and the second base part enables the apparatus to determine the direction in which the user is facing, relative to the first base part, after relative movement of the first base part and the second base part.
    Type: Grant
    Filed: May 10, 2017
Date of Patent: November 16, 2021

  • Publication number: 20190176032
Abstract: A rotation transmission arrangement for a rotatable virtual reality apparatus provides for wired transfer of electrical signals between a stationary processor associated with the virtual reality apparatus and a rotatable user input or user output associated with the virtual reality apparatus, enabling a user of the virtual reality apparatus to experience a more immersive and authentic virtual reality experience.

  • Patent number: 6697760
Abstract: A transducer for detecting position in three generally orthogonal directions has a base unit (10), a mobile unit (20) and a hollow elongate arm (6) which is fixed to the base unit and is angularly movable relative to the base unit such that in use it extends generally towards the mobile unit. A variable length coupling line (4) coupling the base unit to the mobile unit passes through the guide arm and thus measurement of the angular position of the guide arm and the extended length of the coupling length of the coupling line enables the relative positions of the base unit and the mobile unit to be calculated. The angle made between the coupling line and the mobile unit may also be measured which allows the position of distal parts of the mobile unit to be determined relative to the base unit.
