  • Patent number: 5465755
Abstract: A valve member of a three-position, four-way valve is supported to rotate in opposite directions about a predetermined axis from a neutral position to first and second active positions. The valve member is moved between such positions by a manually operable actuator mounted on a pistol grip handle and adapted to be pivoted between a neutral position and first and second actuated positions about an axis offset from and extending perpendicular to the rotational axis of the valve member.
    Type: Grant
    Filed: June 13, 1994
Date of Patent: November 14, 1995
    Assignee: Hydraulic Tool Engineering, Inc.
    Inventor: Ellsworth W. Lapp
  • Patent number: 4366673
Abstract: A hydraulic amplifier having a hydraulic motor adapted to drive a high pressure pump for boosting the pressure of low pressure fluid and for supplying high pressure fluid to a hydraulic actuator. The motor also drives a scavenging pump for overcoming high back pressure in the return side of the system. The amplifier is controlled by two valves which may be actuated by manually operating a single lever.

  • Patent number: 4342332
Abstract: Openings and passages are formed in the valve disc to enable the disc to rotate to active positions on either side of a neutral position upon being moved through a relatively small angle of 30 degrees. The valve disc is adapted to be rotated by a pivoted actuator whose motion is amplified to enable the actuator to rotate the valve disc through its 30 degree angle when the actuator is pivoted through an angle of 15 degrees.

  • Patent number: 4292833
Abstract: A tool for radially crimping a piece of electrical conduit or the like with opposed crimping dies having concavely curved die cavities. Dies of one type are held releasably within die holders, one of which is movable toward the other. The tool also may be used with a different type of dies which are adapted to seat within the die cavities of the first dies. The first dies thus may be used selectively either as dies or as die adaptors.

  • Patent number: 4106164
Abstract: The two overlapped end portions of a tensioned cable are secured together by a clamp having a resiliently yieldable strap which is bowed so as to permit elongation of the cable when the latter is subjected to shock loads.

  • Patent number: 4014518
Abstract: One end portion of a cable is gripped by one head and the opposite end portion of the cable is gripped by another head prior to the heads being spread apart to pull the cable end portions in opposite directions and impart tension to the cable. Without losing the initially imparted tension, one head may be released from and returned reversely along the cable and then may be shifted through another active stroke to place additional tension in the cable.

  • Patent number: 4013266
Abstract: Two spaced heads carry gripping and pulling elements which clamp and tension the two lapped end sections of a cable when the heads are spread apart by linear actuators. The heads are formed with downwardly opening cable-receiving throats which enable the cable to be loaded into the tensioning device simply by placing the device over the cable.

  • Patent number: 3952516
Abstract: A hydraulic pressure amplifier with a scavenging pump operable to establish a negative return line pressure to effect a positive and rapid return of the rod of a one-way hydraulic actuator and thereby eliminate the necessity of third line-type systems that depend on gravity and/or spring-loaded actuators to return the hydraulic fluid to the tank.
