  • Publication number: 20110131985
Abstract: An exhaust gas assembly includes an exhaust gas manifold which is connected with an exhaust gas inlet of a manifold and an adjusting member arranged in the manifold. The adjusting member is configured to supply exhaust gas to a low pressure connection and/or a high-pressure connection of the manifold, wherein on the high-pressure side a high-pressure turbine housing is connected to the manifold and on the low pressure side a low pressure turbine housing is connected to the manifold. A connecting channel extends through the manifold and connects a high-pressure exhaust gas outlet) of the high-pressure turbine housing with a low pressure exhaust inlet) of the low pressure turbine housing.

  • Publication number: 20100316494
Abstract: A turbine housing for exhaust gas turbochargers includes an outlet pipe and an external housing connected therewith. A rotor housing is disposed in the external housing and has a pipe-shaped neck operably coupled with the outlet pipe and axially displaceable relative to the same. A separate sealing ring is positioned operably between the neck and the outlet pipe, supported by the outlet pipe, and has an inwardly turned sealing portion sealingly and slidingly engaging the neck to form a secure gas seal therebetween.

  • Publication number: 20100098533
Abstract: A turbine housing of an exhaust gas turbocharger includes an outer casing and a rotor casing which is arranged in the outer casing and includes a tubular neck for engagement in an exhaust pipe to conduct exhaust gas from the neck in a direction of an exhaust flange. The exhaust pipe is hereby coupled to the rotor casing for relative movement there between. A sealing ring is arranged between the neck and the exhaust pipe, wherein the neck has one end provided with at least one outwardly directed projection defined by an outer diameter which is greater than an inner diameter of the sealing ring. Fabrication of the turbine housing is realized by pushing the sealing ring over the neck, and inserting an expanding mandrel into the neck to widen the neck.

  • Patent number: 6349583
Abstract: In a method of forming a hollow workpiece having open ends by inner pressure in a multi-part forming tool, the forming tool having a forming mold is heated and the workpiece is placed into the forming mold of the forming tool. Closing plugs are inserted into the open ends of the workpiece, wherein the closing plugs are components of closing cylinders, in order to seal off the open ends. The forming tool is closed. A heated pressure fluid is introduced into the hollow workpiece through at least one of the closing plugs, with the hollow workpiece having been heated and plasticized in the forming tool. The material of the hollow workpiece is pressed with the heated pressure fluid into the forming mold of the forming tool. The device for performing the method has a multi-part forming tool with a forming mold for the workpiece. Hydraulic closing cylinders with closing plugs are provided for sealing the open ends of the workpiece. The forming tool has a heating device for heating at least the forming mold.
