  • Patent number: 6618615
Abstract: A photometer comprises a projecting mechanism irradiating a physical mass with infrared light within a wavelength region of 1.1 to 2.0 &mgr;m, a photoreceiving mechanism receiving output light from the physical mass and a spectroscope separating the light applied to the physical mass or the output light from the physical mass into its spectral components, for measuring absorbance by the physical mass at a specific wavelength. A compression mechanism can compress a measured region of the physical mass or a peripheral portion thereof, and difference absorbance calculator obtains difference absorbance from first absorbance obtained by the photometer under a state compressed by the compression mechanism with a first pressure and second absorbance obtained by the photometer under a state compressed with a second pressure lower than the first pressure or a non-compressed state.

  • Patent number: 6381489
Abstract: A measurement condition setting fixture 2 is secured to a measurement site 1 of a living body prior to the measurement. At the time of measurement, a light irradiation section 3 and a light receiving section 5 of a measuring optical system are respectively attached and secured to a light irradiation section securing section 10 and a light receiving section securing section 11 of the measurement condition setting fixture 2. Thus, the measurement site 1 and the measuring optical system are secured to each other, and desirable measurement conditions can be realized. Moreover, the measurement conditions can be maintained throughout the measurement. After the measurement is completed, the measurement site 1 can be removed from the measuring optical system by detaching the light irradiation section 3 and the light receiving section 5 from the light irradiation section securing section 10 and the light receiving section securing section 11.

  • Patent number: 6201606
Abstract: The apparatus for processing a spectrum in spectral measurement includes: a measurement section 10 for measuring an energy spectrum of light for measurement from an object to be measured; an addition section 11 for adding a predetermined value to the energy spectrum of the light for measurement; and a conversion section 12 for obtaining an absorbance spectrum with reduced noise by effecting absorbance conversion of the energy spectrum of the light for measurement with the addition of the predetermined value.

  • Patent number: 5942754
Abstract: A sample solution is stored in a total reflection cell, and a measuring beam is introduced from an incident optical system to be totally reflected, for measuring a total reflection absorption spectrum. Hydrogen peroxide contained in the sample solution is determined on the basis of absorbance at the position of any absorption peak of the spectrum which is present at 1200 to 1500 cm.sup.-1 or 2600 to 3000 cm.sup.-1. Hydrogen peroxide contained in an aqueous solution can be simply quantitatively analyzed through optical analysis.

  • Patent number: 5772606
Abstract: A urinal is provided on its forward end with a cell, which internally communicates with the urinal to outwardly project from the same. A measuring part comprises a light source part for applying a measuring beam of the visible or near infrared wavelength region to the cell which is set in a cell setting part and a light receiving part for receiving and detecting the measuring beam transmitted through the cell, and measures absorbances of uric components to be measured at wavelengths selected therefor respectively. A sensor part is adapted to detect that the cell is set in the cell setting part, so that the measuring part starts a measuring operation on the basis of a signal indicating that the sensor detects the cell. It is possible to carry out a urine test on a person who lies on bed.

  • Patent number: 5751418
Abstract: In an optical measuring apparatus of the present invention, a spectroscopic optical system emits a measuring light beam that contains a measure light component of a measure wavelength domain where a measured object absorbs part of the light and a reference light component of a reference wavelength domain where the measured object almost completely absorbs the light, and separates the beam into beams, a photometric unit measures the light incident on an integrating sphere when a reference sample is inserted in the light path and stores the measurements in a memory and also measures the light incident on an integrating sphere when a measured object is inserted in the light path, and an arithmetic circuit calculates a light intensity ratio of the compensation light component for the measured object to the compensation light component stored in memory and then estimates background intensities during the measurement by multiplying the measurements stored in the memory by the intensity ratio.
