  • Patent number: 7925245
Abstract: A system and method for merchandizing content to wireless subscribers that have upgraded their mobile station or service is disclosed. The wireless carrier maintains a database of identifying data for content downloaded to subscribers' mobile stations. When a subscriber upgrades his or her mobile station the wireless carrier searches the database for previously downloaded content, identifies the equivalent content that is compatible with the new mobile station and provides the information of available equivalent downloads to the mobile station.

  • Publication number: 20100211998
Abstract: When a user purchases digital rights to a media file, or otherwise obtains the right to have a copy of the media file downloaded to the user's wireless device, a link to the media file that is stored in the media database is stored in a user storage database. When the user desires to have the media file downloaded to the user's wireless device, the user sends a request to the network. The network performs a check to determine whether the user is authorized to receive the requested media file, and if so, causes the requested media file to be downloaded to the user's wireless device where the media file is stored in the local memory of the wireless device for playback by the user on the wireless device.

  • Publication number: 20090186629
Abstract: Caller identification with caller geographical location is provided. The caller's geographical location represents the actual or approximate geographical location of the caller at the time the call is placed rather than the billing or exchange location. Additional information can be requested based on the caller's geographical location, such as directions, nearby sites of interest, and traffic reports. A call recipient can request that this additional information be sent to the caller. For privacy purposes and security, a caller can limit the amount of information that is transmitted to call recipients.

  • Patent number: 7333836
Abstract: A method and system for alerting a mobile network subscriber to capabilities of a mobile station associated with a contact of the subscriber. The system receives registration information from the contact mobile station, whereupon an IMEI number of the contact mobile station is stored by the system in an IMEI database. The system constructs a table that is preferably stored in the IMEI database and includes information concerning the contact mobile station, including IMEI number and phone number of the contact mobile station. When a mobile network in the system subsequently receives a phone call to the contact mobile station, the system associates the phone number with the contact mobile station IMEI number stored in the IMEI database. Information including the contact mobile station capabilities stored in the IMEI database is then forwarded to a mobile station of the mobile network subscriber, and preferably displayed as an icon on the subscriber's mobile station.
