  • Publication number: 20120193866
Abstract: A storage device for a mail-handling machine, said storage device comprising a mailpiece-receiving deck along a longitudinal edge of which a referencing wall extends, and through which a conveyor belt passes for the purpose of conveying mailpieces along said referencing wall, and a shock-absorber ramp that is mounted against the referencing wall and that is hit by the mailpieces after they are ejected from said mail-handling machine, and before they fall back down onto the conveyor belt so as to be conveyed towards the sloping surface.

  • Patent number: 7978544
Abstract: Techniques for providing a unified view of a domain model to a user are described herein. In one embodiment, in response to a first search query received from a client via a first search mechanism (e.g., outside of the relational DB) for a list of persistent objects representing data entries of a relational database, it is determined whether the persistent objects have been accessed via a second search query via a second search mechanism based on an object identifier of the persistent object. If the requested persistent object has been accessed via a second search query, an identical instance of the persistent object is returned to the client as a result of the first search query. Other methods and apparatuses are also described.

  • Patent number: 7847688
Abstract: A method of improving the rate of detection of attempts at fraud when a person passes through a controlled space based on the use of different sets of parameters issuing from at least two different sensor systems, some sets of parameters being based on correlations of measurements issuing from various sensor systems. Learning is carried out so as to characterize various types of fraud to permit identification of attempts at fraud by correlation between measurements obtained and characterizations of each type of fraud for each set of parameters.

  • Patent number: 7827168
Abstract: Techniques of index clustering for full text search engines are described herein. In one embodiment, a full text search is performed by a search node using a local copy of an index within the searching node during a search session. In response to an update of a list of data entries the relational database through a Common API (common in the sense the update triggered to the relational DB will also trigger an index change), an index update event is scheduled to update a master copy of the index directory. Periodically the local copy of the index directory is updated by copying index data from the master copy of the index directory (totally or incrementally). Other methods and apparatuses are also described.

  • Patent number: 7788270
Abstract: Techniques for filtering a full-text search result in a full-text search engine level are described herein. According to one embodiment, a filter is defined via a definition statement a filter using a filter name which identifies a filter object representing an implementation of the filter. In response to a search query received at the ORM system from an application client, where the search query identifying the filter via the filter name, a full-text search engine is invoked to perform a full-text search in a database based on one or more keywords in the search query. The filter object is identified based on the filter name extracted from the search query and the filter object associated with the search query is invoked using the filter name of the filter object to filter a search result generated from the full-text search engine. Other methods and apparatuses are also described.

  • Publication number: 20090222465
Abstract: Techniques for filtering a full-text search result in a full-text search engine level are described herein. According to one embodiment, in response to a search query received at an ORM system for a full-text search in a relational database, a full-text search engine is invoked to perform the requested full-text search based on the search query. A filter is utilized to filter a search result generated from the full-text search engine using a filter object representing a filter associated with the search query and returning the filtered result to the application client. Thereafter, the filter object is cached in a cache memory of the ORM system such that the cached filter object can be used in subsequent search queries without having to recreating the same filter object. Other methods and apparatuses are also described.
