    Abstract: An improved pipe coupling device comprising a cylindrical outer layer of plastic, such as polyvinyl chloride formed with a central inwardly-extending boss which coaxially supports a copper pipe extending therethrough and having recesses encircling said copper pipe adajcent each end of said outer layer to permit pipe to be coupled to be inserted into said recesses in a manner to encircle said copper pipe and to facilitate joining of the pipe to be coupled to said outer layer.
