  • Publication number: 20130219926
Abstract: The present invention relates to a centrifuge and a method for cooling a centrifuge. The centrifuge according to the invention includes a cooling device which is improved in that its required installation space is reduced such that the centrifuge can be of a more compact design with the centrifugation capacity remaining unchanged, or the centrifugation capacity can be increased with the installation space remaining unchanged. Further, the number of components can be reduced and thus cost and assembly time can be saved.

  • Publication number: 20130213151
Abstract: A pipette tip having the shape of an elongate small tube with a lower opening at the lower end for the passage of liquid, and an upper opening at the upper end, wherein a seat area exists on the inner circumference contiguous to the upper opening, which serves for plugging it onto a standardized conical attachment piece of a pipetting device, wherein the seat area has a retaining area with axially extending ribs projecting radially towards the inside, and below the retaining area a sealing area and is configured such that when the pipette tip is plugged onto the attachment piece with its seat area by a plugging force which ensures retaining and sealing of the pipette tip on the attachment piece, the ribs are partly plastically deformed, and elastic deformation occurs in the seat area outside of the ribs.

  • Publication number: 20130209995
Abstract: The invention is related to a laboratory apparatus and method for magnetic treatment of samples, comprising a sample reception device, which has reception zones and engagement zones, which are arranged side by side, and which has a magnetic tool device, which comprises at least one engagement element for at least partly engaging with the at least one engagement zone, wherein the reception device and/or the magnetic tool device or engagement element are arranged movable between a first and a second position for performing a movement which causes the at least one engagement element to at least partly engage the at least one engagement zone, wherein, in the first position, the engagement element does not engage, while in the second position, the engagement element is at least partly engaging with the engagement zone for the magnetic treatment. The invention is also related to the reception device and the magnetic tool device.
