Abstract: Systems, devices and methods for automatic narrative creation for captured images. In one example, the system and method perform or include capturing, with an image sensor, a plurality of images having at least one object; creating, with an electronic processor, an initial sequence of images based on a time stamp associated with each image in the plurality of images; identifying, with the electronic processor, textual information within at least one image in the plurality of images; and generating a grouping of the plurality of images based on a criteria selected from a group consisting of a location associated with the plurality of images, textual information within an image in the plurality of images, a search score associated with the at least one object, and a time gap between consecutive images in the initial sequence of the plurality of images.

Abstract: Generally discussed herein are devices, systems, and methods for an insertion and/or modification control object. A method for using a user interface (UI) of a computing device may include selecting, using a user input device and releasing a control object using the UI, selecting a first object to insert below one or more items shown on the UI, wherein the first object is one of a first set of objects shown on the UI in response to releasing the control object, selecting and dragging the control object to a location between two of the items on the UI, releasing the control object at the location, and selecting a second object to insert at the location between the items, wherein the second object is one of the first set of objects shown on the UI in response to releasing the control object.

Abstract: A computing device receives a trigger to surface relevant content. The device also obtains a variety of different types of cross-source contextual information. Items of content are identified and relevancy weights are obtained based on the contextual information. A relevancy is calculated, based on the relevancy weights, for each item of content. The items of content are surfaced.

Abstract: Multi-user, multi-computing device collaborative work experience is provided. One or more computing devices, including wired and wireless personal computers, laptop computers, servers, handheld mobile computing devices, for example, mobile telephones, tablet type computers, slate type computers and the like, may be linked together to allow users of such devices to engage in a collaborative work session. Information for each user engaged in the collaborative work session may be displayed on the one or more devices along with any content such as agenda items, documents, data, images, and the like. User participation may be tracked, and information on user participation, work session communications and content may be stored for subsequent use.

Abstract: Methods and systems are provided for an improved user interface for displaying and scaling selectable software commands and controls in at least one of a first ribbon and a second ribbon. Underneath a first ribbon of top-level command tabs, selectable controls associated with a selected command tab are presented in logical subgroups or chunks. The selectable controls within the chunks are granularly scaled to accommodate different screen sizes or changes in window size. The scaling includes moving a subset of the selectable controls within at least one of the chunks between an overflow pane and the second ribbon.

Abstract: Application of comments to a variety of application functionality content is provided. Comments may be entered and displayed in a comments user interface component directly in line in the text or other objects of a document or other content item. Displayed comments may be collapsed to a simplified comments tab that may remain displayed in the associated document or content item. Selection of the comments tab may allow for expansion of the comments user interface component to full size. The comments tab may likewise be collapsed to an icon or other image displayed next to the associated content, and the icon or other image may be configured to provide an indication of the length of an associated comments conversation thread. One or more social feedback mechanisms may be employed to show feedback on a given component or portion of a document or content item.

Abstract: Interactive visualization of multiple software functionality content items is provided. A variety of content items may be associated with each other according to one or more association attributes. A visualization presentation of one or more of the content items may be displayed in a visualization interface. Organization of content items may be made in association with a visualization ordering based on one or more logical attributes. An ordered navigation interface component may be provided to allow navigation of the displayed content items in a moving visualization such that a focused on content item may be displayed in a main or primary display position. Users may interact with each content item displayed in the visualization interface to include providing edits, comments, feedback, and the like.

Abstract: A method for creating events for use by an electronic calendar application. A computer device running a calendar application displays a GUI having a representation of a calendar. A first widget on the GUI initiates a software routine for defining an event. The routine generates an interface window having a plurality of event detail widgets which allow the user to interactively define details of the event. Once the details are entered, the event is saved as a multimedia object, and the multimedia object is placed onto the calendar representation. Further, details of the event may include additional multimedia content. Also, the calendar representation itself may include multimedia content. The event may be defined with an approximate time frame rather than a specific time frame. For example, an event may be linked to another event rather than to a specific time frame.

The web page includes a content section being different and separate from the toolbar section, and the content section displays additional content of the web page. One or more groups are specified to include one or more action controls associated therewith. Each of the specified groups has a group identifier associated therewith. The one or more action controls are displayed according to the specified groups in the toolbar section of the web page. Each of the one or more displayed action controls includes properties associated therewith, and the included properties define at least one of the following: a name of the action control, a link of the action control, the group identifier of the action control, and a classification identifier of the action control.

Abstract: Feedback via an input device associated with an interaction with a point of interest (POI) and scribble recognition is provided. When using an input device to navigate a GUI, various POIs may be determined as elements beneficial for a user to notice, pay attention to, or avoid. When an input is received that may be associated with a POI, feedback may be provided. Feedback may include haptic, visual, or audible feedback. Scribble recognition may also be provided. When using an input device (e.g., digital pen), a user may “scribble” in a margin to test pen attributes. Upon recognizing a scribble, alternative pen attributes may be presented in a contextual menu. In addition, the scribble may be automatically erased upon selection of a pen attribute or upon receiving input in another area of the UI or alternatively, feedback may be provided prior to erasure of the scribble input.

Abstract: Improved computer efficiency for document navigation is provided. A transparent overlay is automatically applied to an interactive content element to prevent inadvertent interaction with the element during scrolling operations. In some examples, upon determining a user's intent is to navigate a parent document comprising an embedded interactive element, the overlay is applied, and user-interaction with the interactive element is temporarily disabled. Upon determining the user's intent is to interact with the interactive element, the overlay is removed, and user-interaction with the interactive element is enabled. When the overlay is removed, a contextual hint, such as via a user interface control, can be provided to indicate how to continue navigating the parent document.

Abstract: A launching mechanism for context based menus is provided. A launcher indicator may be provided at a fixed or dynamic location on a user interface enabling a user to activate a context based menu through a variety of touch or gesture actions, as well as keyboard, mouse, or similar device inputs, directly related to the indicator or through inference from an action on the displayed content such as selection of a portion of the content. The launcher indicator may provide contextual information such as a type of available context based menu and appear/disappear in an animated fashion. Location of the indicator may also be dynamically adjusted based on selected content, user action location (i.e., location of a touch), available display area, and so on. Upon activation of the menu, the launcher indicator may disappear or be displayed at a center of the context based menu.

Abstract: A computing device receives voice command inputs from a user. The device obtains a language processing result based on the voice command input. The result includes an intent and a set of arguments. The device also obtains a variety of different types of contextual information. An action is identified based on the intent, the arguments, and the contextual information, and the device then suggests the action by displaying a user selectable input mechanism that can be actuated by the user to perform the action. The device can automatically perform the action as well.

Abstract: Context based menus that can be dynamically positioned, laid out, and activated are provided for tap, swipe, and press-and-hold type interactions. Presenting a plurality of executable commands and/or links to submenus, a context based menu may be displayed in various shapes and forms in relation to selected content displayed on a user interface and/or other factors such as available display space, user attributes, and similar ones. Submenus presenting commands within a category may be displayed in place of, adjacent to, or overlapping with a parent context based menu. Menu position, contents, and/or shape may be adjusted in response to changes in selected content, user contact location, changes in user interface, and the like.
