    Abstract: To provide contextual user assistance for cloud services, an assistance panel is presented as part of the cloud service portal and is available in the user interface of the portal. The assistance panel can provide contextual assistance based on current user information, including task or error messages, as well as product name and user role. The assistance panel provides assistance functions including a search function, a browse syndicated community content function, and a post to a community forum function within the cloud service portal and can transform to accommodate the functions. For the browse function, the assistance panel uses the current user information to dynamically update a list of syndicated community content that can potentially match the user's needs as the user navigates to different pages presented in the portal. A content curator tool can be used to control and prioritize the content surfaced by the browse function.

An advertisement context string is referenced. One or more related context strings that are related to the advertisement context string are identified. The advertisement context string and the one or more related context strings are compared to user profile strings associated with a user. It is determined that at least one of the advertisement context string or the one or more related context keywords is similar to at least one of the user profile strings. Any of the similar strings can be utilized to select an advertisement to be presented to the user.

    Abstract: Described herein is an in-text advertising display that presents web advertisements contextually related to retrieved web content about text on a web page. The text of a web page is analyzed to determine whether terms or phrases are associated with particular contextual definitions called entities. Portions of text associated with an entity are emphasized to the user. Detection of a user trigger event initiates retrieval of additional web content about the emphasized text and the retrieved additional content is displayed in a display window, within a pop-up advertisement, or within a quickbar window. An adjacent seamless window displaying web advertisements related to the additional web content is also presented to the user.
