Abstract: A hand guard for a firearm, the firearm being of a type comprising a barrel with a proximal hand guard retainer at a proximal end and a hand guard cap at a distal end. The hand guard cap comprises an end wall having an orifice configured to axially receive the barrel, and a proximally extending flange defining a select shape surrounding the orifice. The hand guard comprises at least first and second body pieces configured to mate lengthwise about a barrel of a firearm between a proximal hand guard retainer and a hand guard cap to form the hand guard. The body pieces cooperatively form a proximal hand guard retainer interface at a proximal end of the hand guard a hand guard cap interface at a distal end. The hand guard cap interface is configured to engage a first select shape defined by a proximally extending flange of a first hand guard cap and a second select shape defined by a proximally extending flange of a second hand guard cap.

Abstract: A panel system for covering a lengthwise segment of an elongate firearm mounting rail. The panel system comprises at least one pair of identically shaped panel halves. Each panel half comprises a body having a top, a bottom, an abutting proximal edge and a distal edge. At least one axial tongue extends from the abutting proximal edge and a corresponding axial groove having a groove mouth is defined in the body. A cantilevered clip extends from the abutting proximal edge. A clip receptacle is defined by the body. A proximally extending lip extends from the body bottom near the distal edge. Each panel half is configured so that with the abutting proximal edges brought into abutment, each axial tongue of each panel is received in a corresponding axial groove of the other and each cantilevered clip engages the clip receptacle of the other.

Abstract: The firearm fore grip for use with a firearm having a barrel extending along a bore axis and an attachment rail operatively associated with the barrel and extending along the bore axis. The firearm fore grip comprises a base configured to engage an attachment rail, the base having a leading and a trailing end. A first hand contact surface is configured to extend substantially parallel to the attachment rail from the leading end of the base. A second hand contact surface extends from the first hand contact surface intermediate a leading and trailing ends of the base at an obtuse angle relative to the first hand contact surface.
