  • Publication number: 20160281851
Abstract: A sealing face defined at a mating surface of a component is disclosed. The sealing face includes a first slant surface extending inwardly from a top edge of the mating surface to a first inner edge of the component. The first slant surface is disposed at a first angle with respect to the mating surface. The sealing face further includes a straight surface extending from the first slant surface. The straight surface is provided between the first inner edge and a second inner edge of the component. The sealing face further includes a second slant surface extending inwardly from the straight surface to an innermost edge of the component. The second slant surface is disposed at a second angle with respect to the straight surface.

  • Publication number: 20160250778
Abstract: A method of manufacturing a rubber component by compression molding is provided. The method includes receiving a rubber molding material in a plastic mold assembly. The plastic mold assembly includes a mold body having a cavity for receiving the rubber molding material. The cavity corresponds to a shape of the rubber component to be molded. The method includes receiving a plurality of metal inserts within a plurality of holes in the mold body. The plurality of metal inserts is conducting heat to the rubber molding material. The method further includes compressing the rubber molding material received within the cavity of the mold body to form the rubber component.

  • Publication number: 20150316366
Abstract: A system for determining diameter of a seal is provided. The system includes a frame. The system includes a first member mounted on the frame. The first member includes a first surface configured to receive a portion of the seal thereon. The system includes a hub movably mounted on the frame. The system includes a second member mounted on the hub. The second member includes a second surface configured to receive another portion of the seal thereon. The seal is removably disposed around the first and second members. The second member is moved with respect to the first member to retain the circular member in a tensioned configuration. The system includes a measuring device disposed on the frame. The measuring device is configured to measure a distance between the first member and the second member to determine the diameter of the seal.

  • Publication number: 20140319829
Abstract: A component is provided. The component is configured to bear on a complementary surface. The component includes a flange located on a periphery of the component. The flange of the component defines an extended provided therein. The flange of the component also defines a plurality of apertures therethrough. The plurality of apertures extended through the flange and are structured and arranged to receive fasteners therethrough. Further, the groove on the flange includes first portions and second portions. The first portions of the groove extend between adjoining apertures of the plurality of apertures and the second portions of the groove are detour portions in proximity to the apertures of the plurality of apertures. The groove is structured and arranged to receive a sealant therein. The sealant forms continuous seal along the periphery of the component in response to the flange being pressed against the complementary surface.
