  • Patent number: 10436676
Abstract: Methods of analyzing a cyclo-mechanical engine include detecting an engine signal associated with a plurality of cycles of the cyclo-mechanical engine, comparing a first sample of the engine signal with a second sample of the engine signal to determine a cycle length of the cyclo-mechanical engine, and analyzing the engine signal to detect a variation in the cycle length of the cyclo-mechanical engine over time based on the determined cycle length. Related systems and computer program products are also disclosed.
    Type: Grant
    Filed: August 9, 2012
Date of Patent: October 8, 2019
    Assignee: Thompson Automotive Labs LLC
Inventors: Eric G. Horlbeck, John Thompson, Daniel McDonald, Gregory Keith Chatham, Emery Carr, William A. Grubbs
  • Patent number: 9200981
Abstract: A method of analyzing an engine for misfire activity includes receiving an electrical signal associated with a plurality of cycles of the engine, identifying energy spikes in the electrical signal associated with cylinder firings in the engine, generating engine speed estimates based on spacing between the energy spikes, and analyzing anomalies in the engine speed estimates to identify misfire activity in the engine. Also described is a method of analyzing an engine for misfire activity including receiving an electrical signal associated with the engine, detecting AC ripple in the electrical signal, generating engine speed estimates in response to the detected AC ripple, and analyzing anomalies in the engine speed estimates to identify misfire activity in the engine.

  • Patent number: 6377895
Abstract: A computer-implemented method and apparatus are provided for planning the generation of combinatorial chemical libraries produced by a series of chemical reaction stages, each stage involving a multiplicity of simultaneous chemical reactions utilizing a set of potential synthons. The disclosed method and apparatus involve enumerating the members of the proposed library and determining which of the members meet desired criteria.

  • Patent number: 5821524
Abstract: An apparatus for electronically reading tubular members, such as cylindrical vials, marked with electronically readable encoded information is disclosed. The apparatus is in the form of a jig having a receiving means adapted to receive an electronic identification means, such as a pen-type bar code reader therein. A receptacle within the jig is adapted to receive a tubular member therein and to allow rotation of the tubular member. An electronic identification means may be placed within the receiving means to read information encoded on the tubular member when placed within the receptacle.
