  • Patent number: 7152127
Abstract: A system for interfacing a multi-interface card to a non-standard interface is provided. The system includes a detection module that detects an input signal; and a switching module that operationally couples the multi-interface card to an interface based on the input signal. The switching module operationally couples the multi-interface card to a serial interface, a USB interface, a PCMCIA interface or to any non-PCMCIA interface. The system also provides a docking device that is coupled to a computing device, for interfacing a multi-interface card to non-standard interfaces. The docking device includes an interface that receives the multi-interface card; detection logic for detecting the multi-interface card; and a converter that receives signal from the multi-interface card and converts the signals based on an interface that couples the docking device to the computing system.
