  • Patent number: 6196020
Abstract: When not only integrating the compressor and expander, but also the heat exchanger in one single rotor, a machine working according to the gas turbine process can be simplified. The gas turbine process in such a machine can also be run in reversed mode as a refrigeration machine or heat pump. Lower relative velocities between the working fluid and the components of the machine can be used which should lead to lower frictional losses and a higher efficiency. In order to further reduce the friction the rotor should rotate in a chamber with low pressure or in a medium with lower friction than air. The medium that exchanges heat with the working medium here called the heat carrying fluid is also taken into the rotor.

  • Patent number: 4787441
Abstract: A heat exchanger wall incorporates a partition wall (11-12), one side of which is in contact with a heat exchange medium. A mechanically stable part (11) of the partition wall (11-12) has provided on one surface thereof a thin metal foil (12), which is provided with a large number of small through-passing holes (121) and which is attached directly to the said part (11), such as to form a minute gap (13) between the foil and the mechanically stable part. According to one embodiment the element comprises a tube (11) and the foil has provided therein a longitudinally extending slot (122) and/or a plurality of folds or bends (31, 32) directed towards the stable part (11), and/or a fold or bend (51) facing away from the stable part (11).

  • Patent number: 4429547
Abstract: In a heat pump plant, a hot gas heat exchanger (8) is connected to the refrigerant circuit between a compressor (4) and a condenser (5) having a built-in sub-cooler (6), the heating medium side of said hot gas heat exchanger being connected to a domestic water heating device (9). An extra sub-cooler (10) having its heating medium side connected to a separate low temperature heating circuit is interconnected between the built-in sub-cooler and an expansion valve (11). An ejector (12) is connected to the supply line from the hot gas heat exchanger to the domestic water heating device, said ejector being also connected via a domestic water heating pump (13) to the heating medium outlet of the condenser-sub-cooler combination (5, 6). The return line from the domestic water heating device to the hot gas heat exchanger is connected via a line (15) to the heating medium inlet of the condenser-sub-cooler combination.
