  • Patent number: 10597319
Abstract: Disclosed is a piston press of the type used in the field of the dehydration of products to be dehydrated such as sludge from a purification plant. More particularly, it relates to a piston press including a pressing chamber supplied with sludge and able to manage air streams that it generates, and to a method for using such a press. In a preferred mode of embodiment, the piston press includes a pipeline having a water removal branch and arranged so as to remove water extracted during a sludge-pressing operation, and an air circulation branch that can channel the volumes of air circulating in the press during the operation thereof, so as to direct the vitiated air, i.e. air that has been brought into contact with the sludge during the implementation of the press, towards a deodorization system.

  • Patent number: 10239777
Abstract: The invention relates to a method for ultra-dehydrating thickened or pasty biomass products, in particular sludge from wastewater treatment plants, according to which the products, in particular products having a dryness of 4% to 25%, are subjected to the following steps: hydrothermal carbonization treatment, including pressurization (1, 2) and thermal conditioning (30) for a duration in a closed reactor (4); followed by dehydration of the products by a ram press (12), obtaining a dryness of more than 50%; the temperature of the product upstream from the ram press dehydration being regulated by cooling between 40° C. and 90° C., advantageously to around 70° C., in order to optimize the filterability in the piston press; the steps of the method being performed in a confined space making it possible to prevent the release of smells into the atmosphere.

  • Patent number: 7628925
Abstract: The invention concerns a method for dehydrating sludge, comprising adding a basic agent to sludge having a pH not more than 8, adding to the sludge at least one organic flocculating constituent, by adding said basic agent, increasing the sludge pH to a value not more than a pH at which occurs degradation of said at least one organic constituent, flocculating the sludge and separating in the flocculated sludge dehydrated sludge from a liquid phase, said basic agent being a magnesian limestone compound of formula xCaCO3,(1?x)[yMg(OH)2+(1?Y) MgO], wherein 0,45:=x=0,75, and 0=y=, the treated sludge having, until after said separation, said value less than a pH at which occurs degradation of said at least one organic constituent.
