    Abstract: A system for identifying an optical disc is provided that includes a set of physical identifiers whose arrangement defines a particular disc type. The set physical identifiers are capable of physical coupling with a set of physical attributes of an optical disc of the particular disc type. An optical disc is provided that includes a readable portion of the optical disc comprising a recording medium and a non-readable portion of the optical disc having physical attributes whose arrangement define a disc type.
