  • Publication number: 20210152510
Abstract: A messaging platform is configured to communicate with a messaging client installed on a mobile communication device via a compact dedicated device (CDD). Messages that are intended for the mobile communication device are first transmitted to the CDD via a paging system instead of directly to the mobile communication device. The CDD is configured to forward the messages to the mobile communication device while providing alerts to the caregiver associated with the mobile communication device.

  • Patent number: 10313290
Abstract: A messaging platform is configured to impose HIPAA-compliant ownership and access control on conversations between caregivers that can contain at least some protected health information (PHI) or electronic protected health information (EPHI). The messaging platform can support a patient-centered conversation between caregivers who are actively affiliated with at least one covered entity in common. The messaging platform can identify caregivers who are authorized participants in a patient-centered conversation based on active affiliations with at least one covered entity. Moreover, the messaging platform can be configured to restrict participation in and access to a patient-centered conversation owned by a covered entity to caregivers who are actively affiliated with the covered entity.

  • Publication number: 20150261932
Abstract: A messaging platform is configured to impose HIPAA-compliant ownership and access control on conversations between caregivers that can contain at least some protected health information (PHI) and electronic protected health information (EPHI). In one exemplary embodiment, the messaging platform can be configured to support conversations between caregivers who are actively affiliated different covered entities. As such, the messaging platform is able to maintain HIPAA-compliant ownership control when ownership of a conversation is shared amongst multiple covered entities. According to another exemplary embodiment, the messaging platform can support the transfer of the ownership of a conversation from one covered entity to another.

  • Patent number: 8103694
Abstract: A method of storing and managing BOMs of different owners in the same environment. One or more BOMs have an owner. An owner's BOM may include confidential information such that unrestricted access to the confidential information is limited to the owner and any designates of the owner. In particular, one embodiment of the invention maintains a list of items that include the items in the BOMs of the different owners. A unique identifier is used for each item of the list. The item identifiers thus form one namespace. BOMs of different owners share data including confidential data within the same namespace.

  • Patent number: 8046379
Abstract: A system for securely uploading and downloading data from a client to a remote data storage location under control of a remote application program. The data is stored in encrypted form so that the data server has no access to the data. The data is associated with a bill of material (BOM) and may be accessed by users without providing access to the data space of the client. Also disclosed is a method and computer program so automatically assign access privileges to one or more users of data in a bill of material stored in a shared database such that the step of refining a role for the user for a data item automatically assigns access privileges for the user for the data and other related data items. Also described is linking BOMs to provide peer-to-peer access and views to different users. Also described is a method and software program that provides of propagation of data through the supply chain via one or more bills of materials.

  • Patent number: 6999965
Abstract: A method of associating CAD data of an item with an item in a bill of material (BOM). The BOM is stored remotely in a database containing BOMS, not necessarily having the same owner. The method includes for a selected item collecting data from the CAD data of the item, formatting the collected data for transfer, transferring the formatted collected data to a remote location from where the BOM database is accessible, retrieving matching BOM items from a database containing one or more BOMs, comparing the BOM data of the matching items with the corresponding collected transfer data to obtain a match, and associating the matched BOM item with the CAD data of the item. The BOM uniquely identifies items using a unique identifier, and the associating is by attaching to the CAD data of the item the unique identifier used in the BOM database for the item.

  • Patent number: 6611364
Abstract: The compact design of a CIS device is exploited, resulting in a more compact scanning mechanism and in lighter and smaller scanning devices. The CIS is incorporated into a drive belt attached to the length of the CIS. The CIS is forced to traverse the document by a drive mechanism that pulls the entire belt and CIS across the document while maintaining the tension necessary to keep the document in the narrow depth of focus. This mechanism provides a uniform force on the CIS, reducing the possibility of yawing motion, and keeps the document in focus through the tension on the drive belt. The combined CIS and transport mechanism power requirements can be supplied by standard computer interfaces, requiring no additional power supplies. This new mechanism also hides the internal workings of the scanner behind a drive belt that is the size of the platen window.

  • Patent number: 6178012
Abstract: This invention relates to a scanning device for scanning a document such as a photograph using an image sensor device that uses optics that may have a narrow depth of focus, the scanning avoiding contact of the document by the image sensor device during scanning. That is, the focal volume of the sensor device is at a distance from the image sensor device. The scanning device includes a positioning mechanism that maintains the front surface of the document in the focal volume during scanning.

  • Patent number: 6029013
Abstract: A method and apparatus for activating a remote light source in synchronization with an indication provided from a camera. A transducer is coupled to the external electrical connector of a conventional camera in order to convert the electrical signals that are output from the camera into an alternative form (e.g., optical signals). A different transducer is coupled to the external electrical connector of a remote light source, such as a photographic strobe. The light source transducer receives the signal from the camera transducer and converts the signal back into one or more conventional electrical signals to activate the remote light source. A light source activation signal and a light source modulation signal are multiplexed onto a single communication channel. A first indication is provided on the communication channel to activate the remote light source (i.e., cause the remote light source to emit light).
