A first layer that may be less than 0.3 mm and made of a cyclic olefin copolymer may be configured to define a reservoir. A reservoir may be defined by a wall made of a cyclic olefin copolymer and the wall may be for substantially preventing light from passing through the reservoir.

A bias member may be configured to force a plunger arm operatively connected to a plunger head against a drive member to operatively engage the plunger arm to the drive member. A plunger head moveable in a reservoir may have a first ridge, a second ridge, a seal member adjacent at least one of the ridges, and protrusions arranged around at least one of the ridges.

    Abstract: Various embodiments of the present invention are directed to equalizing pressure in a reservoir containing fluidic media, possibly due to imperfect installation of the reservoir or an external influence such as an altitude or a temperature change. In various embodiments, fluidic media may be expelled from the reservoir through a needle and contained in an interior volume of a pierceable member before the needle pierces the pierceable member to establish a flow path to a user. In other embodiments, fluidic media may be expelled through a port of the reservoir into a chamber. In further embodiments, fluidic media may be expelled through a channel in a plunger head and out a passage in the reservoir when the channel and passage are aligned. In other embodiments, fluidic media may be expelled through a valve, and the valve may be pierceable by a needle to establish a flow path to the user.

    Abstract: Embodiments of medical infusion pumps are provided that include structural elements for providing sources of compliance within a fluid path within the pump. Some preferred embodiments provide implantable infusion pumps with compliance positioned between an exit port of a pumping mechanism and an outlet (e.g. an opening in a catheter) of the infusion pump. Other embodiments provide compliance in fluid path in proximity to entrance port of the pumping mechanism. Insertion of compliance in a flow path that is down stream of the pumping mechanism may aid in minimizing negative effects associated with attempting to force fluid through a restricted flow path that is further down-stream, such as that offered by a catheter or other outlet component. Insertion of compliance before the pumping mechanism may aid in reducing negative effects associated with an up stream restricted flow path, such as that which might be offered by a rigid filter located between the reservoir and the pumping mechanism.

    Abstract: A connector assembly located at the proximal end of an elongated lead body includes first and second electrical contacts, each attached to a respective one of at least two conductors. An interlocking construction positively joins the first and second electrical contacts and maintains a fixed axial spacing therebetween. The first connector includes a connector pin having a head portion at an extremity thereof and an integral and coaxial tail portion and the second connector includes a connector ring coaxial with and telescopingly received on the tail portion. An electrically insulative male joint member integral with the tail portion is selectively lockingly engageable with a female joint member integral with the connector ring.
