  • Publication number: 20220063484
Abstract: A vehicular exterior rearview mirror assembly includes a dual mode illumination module having a first light emitting diode (LED) operable to emit visible white light when electrically powered and a second LED operable to emit non-visible light when electrically powered. The first LED, when the vehicle is parked and the first LED is electrically powered, emits visible white light to provide visible ground illumination at a ground region at least partially along the side portion of the vehicle. Visible ground illumination by the vehicular exterior rearview mirror assembly at the ground region is locked-out during movement of the vehicle. The second LED, when the second LED is electrically powered, emits non-visible light to provide non-visible illumination for a camera viewing exterior and at least sideward of the vehicle. Non-visible light emission by the second LED is not locked-out during movement of the vehicle.

  • Publication number: 20220047910
Abstract: A belt for use in performing hip raising exercises is provided. The hip thrust belt of the present invention comprises a flexible supporting pad coupled to a flexible belt. Hook-and-loop fasteners are provided on the belt to secure the ends of the belt to dumbbells or other weights including barbell weight plates and kettlebells. The hip thrust belt allows the weights to hang on the outer sides of the user's hip and thereby increases the effort required to perform hip raising exercises. Hip raising exercises are believed to strengthen the gluteal and hamstring muscles.

  • Patent number: 11214199
Abstract: An interior rearview mirror assembly includes a mirror head pivotally mounted at a mirror mount, and a display device disposed in the mirror head and behind the reflective element. An actuator is disposed at the mirror head and, when actuated, pivots the mirror head upward or downward to pivot the mirror head between a mirror mode orientation and a display mode orientation. The actuator includes at least one cam follower that is pivotable and that has an arcuate groove that receives a pin at the mirror head. Actuation of the actuator pivots the cam follower to move the pin along the groove and to pivot the mirror head relative to the mirror mount. The arcuate groove of the cam follower has a spiral form having a non-uniform radius of curvature at a middle region and a constant radius of curvature about the pivot axis at each end region.

  • Patent number: 11206879
Abstract: A guard to protect the neck of a person absorbs kinetic energy from an object that, if not for the guard, would strike the person's neck. The guard includes a body that has a material that deforms when an object strikes it, a shape configured to cover the posterior region of each of the cervical vertebrae of a person's spine when the guard is worn by a person to protect their neck, and a coupler to position and hold the body over the posterior region of each of the cervical vertebrae of a person's spine. The guard's body also includes a first region positioned above a person's first cervical vertebrae, when the guard is worn by a person to protect their neck, and a second region positioned above a person's last cervical vertebrae, when the guard is worn by a person to protect their neck.

  • Publication number: 20210370877
Abstract: A vehicular exterior door handle assembly includes a handle portion disposed at an exterior side of a door of a vehicle, and a printed circuit board (PCB) disposed at the handle portion. The PCB includes a near-field communication (NFC) reader that includes a microcontroller and an antenna. The antenna emits a magnetic field. The NFC reader detects disturbances in the emitted magnetic field. The NFC reader, responsive to detecting a disturbance in the emitted magnetic field from an NFC tag, adjusts operation of the NFC reader from a power-saving state of operation to an active state of operation. The NFC reader, when operating in the active state, wirelessly communicates an authentication signal to the NFC tag. The NFC reader, responsive to receiving a valid authentication response from the NFC tag, unlocks a door of the vehicle.

  • Patent number: 11011768
Abstract: A fuel cell power controller tracks load current and fuel cell output voltage, and alerts on excessive fuel cell ramp rate, so another power source can supplement the fuel cell and/or the load can be reduced. A power engineering process makes efficient use of available fuel cell power by ramping up power flow rapidly when power is available, while respecting the ramp rate and other power limitations of the fuel cell and safety limitations of the load. Power flow decreases after an alert indicating an electrical output limitation of the fuel cell. Permitted power flow increases in response to a power demand increase (actual or requested) from the load in the absence of the alert. Power flow may increase or decrease in a fixed amount, a proportional amount, or per a sequence. A power controller relay may trip open on a low fuel cell output voltage or high load current.

  • Publication number: 20210053493
Abstract: A vehicular interior rearview mirror assembly includes a mirror head that is pivotally attached via a pivot joint at a mounting structure and that accommodates a reflective element. A display device is disposed within the mirror head. An actuator is disposed within the mirror head and includes an actuator base attached at a rear portion of the reflective element, an actuator body that is pivotally attached at the actuator base, and an electrically operable motor. When the motor is electrically operated, the actuator body pivots relative to the actuator base to pivot the mirror head relative to a socket element of the pivot joint. Pivotal movement of the mirror head relative to the socket element adjusts the reflective element between a mirror mode orientation and a display mode orientation. When the reflective element is in the display mode orientation, the display device is actuated to display video images.
