  • Patent number: 7628560
Abstract: A support (30) for the joint hinge of a wiper blade (10) at a hook-shaped end (20) of a bar (18) in a windshield wiper. Owing to an open hub on part of its periphery (28), the support can be slipped on a bearing shank of the wiper blade (10) and, so mounted, be maintained by the hook-shaped end (20) above hub surfaces (46, 62, 66) and ratchet elements (70, 76, 78). The two side walls (32, 34) which are connected by the hub (36) and a plurality of crossbars (60, 64, 70) extend in the longitudinal direction (38), on both sides, towards the hub (34) and the inside widths (40, 42) between the side walls (32, 34) are different at their opposite ends.

  • Publication number: 20020141814
Abstract: 1. The invention is based on a bearing element (30) for hinging a wiper blade (10) to a hook-shaped end (20) of a wiper rod (18) of a windshield wiper, which can be slid with a hub (36), which is open over part of its circumference, onto a supporting bolt (28) of the wiper blade (10) and when mounted, is held by the hook-shaped end (20) by way of contact faces (46, 62, 66) and detent means (70, 76, 78).

  • Patent number: 6301741
Abstract: Bearing part (30) for an articulation of a wiper blade (10) at a hook-shaped end (20) of a wiper rod (18) of a windshield wiper, which bearing part (30) can be placed on a bearing pin (28) of the wiper blade (10) with a hub (36) which is open along a portion of its circumference and is introduced into the hook-shaped end (20) and held by the hook-shaped end (20) in assembled state via contact faces (60, 62, 64, 66, 68) and catch means (50, 52, 88, 90, 92), characterized in that an elongated base body (40) has two arms (42, 44) which are arranged diametrically relative to the hub (36) held in the hub (30) so as to be rotatable coaxial to the hub (36) in a holding clip (46) whose side walls (48, 50) project in the longitudinal direction (38) over lateral surfaces of the base body (40) and are connected with one another by at least one crosspiece (50, 52), wherein the arms (42, 44) are constructed in different ways for receiving wiper rods (18) with different hook-shaped ends (20).

  • Patent number: 6286176
Abstract: The invention relates to a windshield wiper, having a drivably supported wiper arm which on its free end carries a wiper blade, and the wiper blade is joined detachably and pivotably to the wiper arm by means of a retaining bracket, and for the sake of adapting different wiper arms and retaining brackets, the connection is made via an adapter element. The point of departure for the proposal is that the adapter element (28) can be disposed pivotably about 180°, and for the detachable and pivotable connection between the wiper arm (12) and the retaining bracket (22) a detent connection exists both between the adapter element (28) and the wiper arm (12) and between the adapter element (28) and the retaining bracket (22).

  • Patent number: 6209166
Abstract: The windshield wiper includes a wiper blade (20), a holding clip (22) for holding the wiper blade (20) and an intermediate piece (28) for pivotally connecting the holding clip (22) together with the wiper blade (22) with different-sized wiper arms (12). The intermediate piece (28) is provided with a receiving area (42) for each different wiper arm. The receiving area (42) has different-sized receiving portions for the different wiper arms. The intermediate piece (28) includes two housing halves (32,34) connected in one piece with each other by an elastic member (36). This elastic member (36) consists of a tubular spring (38) extending around the intermediate piece and connecting the two housing halves, so that the two housing halves may be squeezed together or move apart.

  • Patent number: 5819361
Abstract: A wiper blade is proposed which is a part of windshield wiper systems of motor vehicles and is used for cleaning windshields of motor vehicles. The wiper blade has a multi-link elongated support bow system for a wiper strip resting against the windshield and has at least one upper support bow, on whose at least one end a lower support bow is hinged by means of a hinge bolt disposed transversely to the long extension of the support bow, wherein the upper bow of a U-shaped cross section in the area of the hinged connection extends with its U-shaped legs over a section of the lower bow of a U-shaped cross section in such a way, that the U-shaped legs of the two support bows essentially lie parallel with each other. The hinge bolt fittingly projects through the U-shaped legs in openings which are coaxial in respect to each other and the hinge bolt is provided with means for securing it against axial displacement in its center area located between the U-shaped legs of the lower bow.
