Patent number: 9459078Abstract: An accessory mounting mechanism with a top portion consisting of a ring and a bottom portion consisting of a clamp is disclosed. The ring accepts an accessory. The ring is coupled to a clamp, which is configured to engage a firearm. The clamp further includes at least two detachable wedges, a cross bar, and a tightening mechanism, which may be either a thumb nut or a throw lever. The cross bar is threaded through both detachable wedges. Tightening by way of the thumb nut or the throw lever applies force against the wedges and the firearm simultaneously, which pushes the accessory upward into the ring and secures the clamp to the firearm.Type: GrantFiled: August 11, 2015Date of Patent: October 4, 2016Assignee: BRAVO COMPANY MFG, INC.Inventor: Eric Stephen Kincel

Patent number: 9377274Abstract: A system for coupling various types of firearm accessories to a firearm having an accessory rail may include a coupling member. The coupling member may include a head and a threaded body. The head may have a diameter that fits through a first region of an accessory rail of a firearm but not through a second region. A method of coupling a firearm accessory to a firearm may include inserting the head of the coupling member through the first region of the accessory rail and moving the threaded body into the second region of the accessory rail. The method may further include driving the threaded body into the threaded hole such that the coupling member and firearm accessory are compressed against the accessory rail.Type: GrantFiled: February 5, 2014Date of Patent: June 28, 2016Assignee: Bravo Company USA, Inc.Inventor: Eric Stephen Kincel

Publication number: 20160025448Abstract: A modular buttstock assembly that removably mounts to a receiver extension of a firearm may include a main body and a rear body. The main body may have a passage that mates with the receiver extension, while the rear body may be removably coupled to the main body such that any number of swappable, modular rear bodies may be coupled to the main body. The main body may include a toggle assembly with a actuating lever coupled to an bowed or ached actuating spring. The toggle assembly may also include a locking block with a plurality of shafts that distribute the load from the receiver extension to the main body rather than concentrating mechanical stress on a single lock pin.Type: ApplicationFiled: August 17, 2015Publication date: January 28, 2016Inventor: Eric Stephen Kincel

Patent number: 8904691Abstract: A firearm handguard assembly system, the system comprising a handguard, wherein the handguard includes a first aperture and a second aperture on a first side, and a third aperture and a fourth aperture on a second side. A barrel nut which includes a groove around the outside diameter ahead of the threaded portion which is threaded onto the upper receiver to provide a mounting surface for the handguard. A locking mechanism is placed around the handguard containing the barrel nut, locked in place by at least a notched cross bolt and a locking cross bolt. The bolts are threaded through a first and second clamp block and the handguard. The bolts pass through the clearance afforded by the groove in the barrel nut without interfering with the various other components located above the barrel nut. An optional indexing plate may be placed between the barrel nut and the handguard to prevent rotation of the barrel nut.Type: GrantFiled: July 25, 2013Date of Patent: December 9, 2014Assignee: Bravo Company Mfg, Inc.Inventor: Eric Stephen Kincel

Patent number: 8701327Abstract: A throw lever assembly used to secure an accessory such as a sight or a flashlight to a firearm. The throw lever assembly includes a base unit having a cam bed wherein the cam resides. An engagement rod, connected to the cam, extends through the base unit to an anchor clamp used to clamp the entire assembly to a firearm. A handle portion is manually locked to the cam so that when locked to the cam mechanism, the lever allows the operator to manually rotate the cam to force movement of the engagement rod to tighten or release the assembly from the firearm. In one embodiment, the handle portion is secured to an arm extending from the cam.Type: GrantFiled: May 29, 2012Date of Patent: April 22, 2014Assignee: Abrams Airborne Inc.Inventor: Eric Stephen Kincel

Patent number: 8578647Abstract: Systems and methods for securely mounting devices and/or accessories to vehicles and/or other supporting structures. The systems include a shaft having a longitudinal axis. A pair of clamp bodies cooperates with the shaft so that a distance is defined between the clamp bodies. A lever is engaged with the shaft and operable to alter the distance between the clamp bodies. A lock supported by the lever movably engages the shaft and maintains the orientation of the clamp bodies relative to one another by maintaining an orientation of the lever relative to the shaft so that the lever can only be operated when the lock is disengaged from the shaft.Type: GrantFiled: September 28, 2010Date of Patent: November 12, 2013Assignee: American Defense Manufacturing, LLCInventors: Troy Storch, John Gross, William Orne, III, Eric Stephen Kincel

Patent number: 8490316Abstract: A clamp used to attach a flashlight to a firearm having a rail thereon. In the preferred embodiment, the clamp utilizes a sleeve configured to accept a handle of the flashlight. The sleeve has at least one tooth configured to engage the rail on the firearm. A wedge is movably secured to the sleeve such that a simultaneous action by the operator both forces the wedge up a ramp on an interior aspect of the clamp and secures the clamp by compressing the rail between a bracket (which engages both the clamp and the rail) and the tooth on the sleeve.Type: GrantFiled: November 2, 2011Date of Patent: July 23, 2013Assignee: Abrams Airborne Manufacturing Inc.Inventors: Eric Stephen Kincel, Christopher James Hendryk

Patent number: 8356537Abstract: A firearm action assembly having an action mechanism with an improved charging handle. The charging handle uses a rod member to engage the action for “cocking” the action mechanism. At an open end of the rod member is a handle which is secured to the edge of the action in a dormant state. Releasing of the lock is through the use of either of two finger members which are swivelly secured to each other. Pulling on either of these finger members operates the other which moves the other finger member.Type: GrantFiled: December 8, 2010Date of Patent: January 22, 2013Inventor: Eric Stephen Kincel

Patent number: 8336436Abstract: A charging handle for a firearm which can be used by either a right-handed or a left handed operator. The charging handle uses a rod member which engages the action of the firearm and is secured to the action via a locking mechanism. The locking mechanism is release when the handle is pulled by either the left hand or the right hand of the operator by pressing a first pressure surface when the left hand is used, and by pressing a second pressure surface when the right hand is used by the operator. This pressure forces the locking mechanism to disengage from the action mechanism.Type: GrantFiled: November 2, 2011Date of Patent: December 25, 2012Inventor: Eric Stephen Kincel
