  • Publication number: 20060229557
Abstract: A method and apparatus is disclosed for operating a medical device with a screen having an improved graphical user interface, which selectively reallocates screen display for both single and multi-channel pumps. Channel indicators associate operation information with a specific delivery channel. Patient or drug order verification is facilitated with a rendering of the patient or the entire drug order/label on the screen. Decimal numbers are presented in vertically offset decimal format. A dual function button cancels the current operation and, after a delay, clears entered parameters. An area sensitive scrollbar cycles through information at various speeds. Screen brightness is adjusted based on an ambient light detector. A screen saver mode activates based on several operating conditions. The screen is incorporated in a removable user interface.

  • Patent number: 6278423
Abstract: The system illuminates an active matrix EL device (AMEL) to provide a gray scale display. The device includes a first electrode layer comprising an active matrix of individually addressable pixel electrodes, a second electrode layer, and a thin film EL laminate stack including at least an EL phosphor layer and a dielectric layer. The stack is disposed between the first and second electrode layers. A first group of selected ones of the pixel electrodes are addressed with data signals during a first subframe time period where the first group includes fewer than all of the pixels electrodes of the display. The second electrode layer is driven during the first subframe time period with a first illumination signal. A second group of selected ones of the pixel electrodes are addressed with data signals during a second subframe time period where the second group includes at least one pixel electrode not included within the first group.

  • Patent number: RE49904
Abstract: Techniques for providing data security services with respect to cloud-based services are described. Examples include a security service provider (“SSP”) configured to perform or provide one or more security-related services or functions with respect to or on behalf of some other system or service. The other system or service may be, for example, a cloud-based system that provides network-accessible services. The SSP allows a user of the cloud-based service to provide and manage one or more security-related services, such as data storage, encryption, decryption, key management, and the like. By using and controlling the SSP, the user can be confident that his or her data is being securely represented and stored, even though it is being operated upon by a cloud-based service that is not under the user's control.
