Abstract: An apparatus for demonstrating the use of a medical device includes a body adapted for receiving the medical device. The body includes at least a portion adapted for viewing the medical device when positioned in the body. A cover is provided for selectively covering the portion of the body adapted for viewing the medical device. A kit and related methods are also disclosed.

Abstract: The present invention relates to certain SGLT-2 inhibitors for treating and/or preventing oxidative stress, for example in patients with type 1 or type 2 diabetes, as well as to the use of such SGLT-2 inhibitors in treatment and/or prevention of cardiovascular diseases in patients, for example type 1 or type 2 diabetes patients. The present invention further relates to certain SGLT-2 inhibitors for treating and/or preventing a metabolic disorder and preventing, reducing the risk of or delaying the occurrence of a cardiovascular event in patients, for example patients with type 1 or type 2 diabetes.

Abstract: A method of controlling an agricultural facility for housing a plurality of animals includes the step of regulating the environment within the agricultural facility with an automated building operational system. An automated thermal event controller is operationally coupled with the automated building operational system and generates a thermal event signal in response to a thermal event in progress, whereby the automated thermal event controller, upon receipt of the thermal event signal indicating that the thermal event is in progress, activates an alarm state. In the alarm state, the automated thermal event controller: sends an alarm signal to a system administrator; places the automated building operational system in a safety-mode condition for a first predetermined time interval; and places the automated building operational system in a normal-mode operational condition after the first predetermined time interval and if a confirmatory signal is not yet then received from the system administrator.

The connectivity management operation includes: providing a data center asset with a connectivity management system client; establishing a secure communication channel between the connectivity management system client and a connectivity management system; exchanging information between the connectivity management system client and the connectivity management system via the secure communication channel between the connectivity management system client and the connectivity management system, the information including a provisioning request; and, providing provisioning information to the data center asset via the secure communication channel.

Abstract: A devices for coupling or mounting machine elements with a minimized coefficient of friction, as well as methods of minimizing the coefficient of friction in said devices are described herein. The device includes reciprocal inclined surfaces with a liner for minimizing friction therebetween. The liner, or liners, include an anti-friction fabric for reducing friction between the inclined surfaces.

Abstract: The present teaching relates to communication related to predictions. A communication chain is created with multiple chain units, each operating independently to provide prediction services related to a prompt with embedded information therein associated with predictions for the prompt to enable prediction services. A request is received for a requested operation related to a query prompt on one of prediction solicitation, prediction entry, verification entry, and prediction access. If a chain unit for the query prompt, the request is directed to the chain unit to perform the requested operation. If not, a new chain unit is created for the query prompt and the request is forwarded to the new chain unit to carry out the requested operation.

Abstract: Provided are chimeric antigen receptors (CARs), which contain extracellular antigen-binding domains that bind to G Protein-Coupled Receptor Class C Group 5 Member D (GPRC5D) and B-cell maturation antigen (BCMA). The disclosure further relates to genetically engineered cells expressing such CARs, and uses thereof in adoptive cell therapy.

Abstract: Systems and methods for providing variable trick-play mode playback of media content in accordance with embodiments of the invention are disclosed. A playback device stores images of the media content associated with presentation times and marker information for the media content that indicates the presentation time of moments of interest. When a trick-play mode is invoked, the playback device determines a presentation time of a next marker in the playback. The playback device determines whether the current presentation time of the playback is within a specified range of the presentation time of the next marker and adjusts the speed of the trick-play playback based on the determination. The next frame to present is determined based on the adjusted speed of the trick-play playback and displayed.

Abstract: Systems and methods for transferring data via a two-way radio transmission are described herein. An example method commences with collecting asset data, determining conditions for transmission of the asset data to a data server, and determining a mode for the transmission of the asset data. The method continues with preprocessing the asset data for the transmission. The preprocessing includes determining that the conditions for transmission of the asset data satisfy predetermined criteria and setting priorities for one or more parts of the asset data. The priorities are set based at least on a type of the data and a location of the data collection device. The method further includes transmitting the asset data to a data server. The asset data is transmitted based on the mode for the transmission and the priorities via at least one of the one or more communication channels.
