  • Patent number: 9754235
Abstract: Various embodiments of a system and method for authoritative item identification based on facility operations are described. Embodiments may include an authoritative item identification component configured to, for each particular item of multiple items in inventory of a materials handling facility, determine multiple identifiers for the particular item, where one or more of the multiple identifiers are electronically obtained from a unit of the particular item during operations of the materials handling facility. The authoritative item identification component may, for each of the multiple identifiers, determine a quantity of instances in which that identifier was electronically obtained from a given unit of the particular item. The authoritative item identification component may, based on a statistical analysis of the quantities, determine one of the multiple identifiers as being an authoritative identifier for the particular item.

  • Patent number: 9646563
Abstract: A display pipe is configured to generate output frames for display. Additionally, the display pipe may be configured to compress an output frame and write the compressed frame back to memory responsive to detecting static content in successive output frames. The display pipe may also be configured to determine to selectively allow write-back logic to operate when doing so will not cause a pixel underrun to the display. If an underrun might occur, write-back logic is temporarily disabled. If write-back is successful, the display pipe may read the compressed frame from memory for display instead of reading the source frames for compositing and display.

  • Patent number: 9594918
Abstract: A computer-implemented method of protecting digital data includes applying a key derivation function to a first value to generate a first derived key, the first value being equal to or derived from a first input password. The first derived key is combined with the digital data to generate a protected record stored in the computer. Subsequently, the key derivation function is applied to a second value to generate a second derived key, the second value being equal to or derived from a second input password. The protected record is processed using the second derived key to permit access to the digital data when the second derived key matches the first derived key. The key derivation function includes iterations of a two-stage hashing operation creating and using an array of memory blocks whose size is specified independently of the number of iterations to decouple processing and memory requirements.

  • Patent number: 9558536
Abstract: Systems, apparatuses, and methods for generating a blur effect on a source image in a power-efficient manner. Pixels of the source image are averaged as they are read into pixel buffers, and then the source image is further downscaled by a first factor. Then, the downscaled source image is upscaled back to the original size, and then this processed image is composited with a semi-transparent image to create a blurred effect of the source image.

  • Patent number: 9524485
Abstract: Pattern information may be associated with an item in an inventory to facilitate identification of the item from among other items in the inventory. The pattern information may represent a feature extrinsic to the physical appearance of the item and may be assigned to the item deterministically, randomly, or pseudo-randomly. An indicator of the pattern information, such as a tag or sticker, may be applied to the item or to its packaging to provide a visual aid to distinguish the item from other items in the same inventory or the item may be enclosed in additional packaging comprising an indicator of the assigned pattern information. Pattern information assigned to the item may comprise a single color, shape, pattern, or other attribute and may include other secondary pattern information. Different amounts of pattern information may be associated with different items or with the same item when co-located with other different items.

  • Publication number: 20160339454
Abstract: A flexible dispensing apparatus for coupling to pressurized fluid containers is described. It includes a flexible tube and a handle assembly. The handle assembly houses a second end of the tube. The handle assembly has a first side connected to a second side, a slide trigger, a roller coupled to the bottom of the slide trigger with a dowel pin, a spray nozzle assembly, a magnet reservoir, and a magnet. The first side has an inclined ramp that runs along a length of the first side and extends into the second side above and beyond a seam that is formed by the connection of the two sides. The tube is within a channel in the handle assembly formed between the inclined ramp and the roller. When the roller is rolled toward the end of the ramp it pinches the flexible tube near the top of the inclined ramp.

  • Patent number: 9420308
Abstract: A scaled motion search section can be used in a video processing device that processes a video input signal that includes a plurality of pictures. The scaled motion search section includes a downscaling module that downscales the plurality of pictures to generate a plurality of downscaled pictures. A reduced-scale motion search module generates a plurality of motion vector candidates at a downscaled resolution, based on the plurality of downscaled pictures. The reduced-scale motion search module includes a column buffer that stores a column of reference data and generates the plurality of motion vector candidates based on a parallel processing of the column of reference data for a group of adjacent macroblock pairs.

  • Patent number: 9407920
Abstract: A video processing device includes a video processing unit that decodes a video input signal into a decoded video signal in accordance with a video compression protocol, based on uncompressed video frame data. A tile engine includes a tile accumulation module that accumulates the uncompressed video frame data into a plurality of tile units, wherein each of the plurality of tile units includes a plurality of video span units. A tile compression/decompression module generates compressed video frame data for storage in a compressed video frame buffer by compressing the plurality of video span units into a plurality of compressed video span units and further that retrieves the compressed video frame data from the compressed video frame buffer by retrieving the plurality of compressed video span units and generating the uncompressed video frame data by decompressing the plurality of compressed video span units.
