  • Publication number: 20030089284
Abstract: In the case of a receiving table for container processing machines having a table top (3) which stands on feet (2) and has transport elements (T) for the containers arranged on it, the table top consists of an inclined top plate (3a) and a bottom plate (3b) which is rigidly connected to the former and together with it forms a cavity (4). The top side of the table top (3) is provided with a water-repellant coating. This greatly facilitates runoff of liquids and cleaning of the tablet plate, and yields a stable, lightweight and inexpensive construction.

  • Patent number: 6405690
Abstract: An air cooled internal combustion engine with a crankshaft that rotates about a vertical axis is provided. The engine may be a single cylinder diesel motor. The internal combustion engine includes an encapsulation which surrounds a plurality of cooling air channels. A flywheel is positioned at the top end of the crankshaft and is combined with a radial blower. An air distribution housing, which is joined to a top front wall of the crank case, forms a pressure chamber of the radial blower. At least two substreams of cooling air branch off from the pressure chamber. A first substream is guided through the housing encapsulation, which surrounds the cylinder and the cylinder head. A second substream is guided in a lining on the outside of the sidewall of the crankcase and the oil pan facing the cylinder. Both substreams are collected on the downstream side and exit through a common air-extractor shaft.

  • Patent number: 6393924
Abstract: In testing a method for non-destructive testing of a welded assembly which includes a plurality of strands of electrical conductors which are joined together into a bundle by ultrasonic welding, a defined testing force is introduced into two or more shell surface segments of the welded assembly in directions oriented substantially towards each other or substantially to a comon intersection. For carrying out the testing method, a testing device and a welding machine which constitute such a testing device are provided.

  • Patent number: 6260425
Abstract: On an inspection machine for bottles or the like with an inward conveyor and arranged thereon a first lateral inspection device, with an outward conveyor and arranged thereon a second lateral inspection device, and with an intermediate conveyor which spans a gap between the latter and arranged thereon a base inspection device, the inward conveyor and the outward conveyor are arranged at an angle with respect to one another, whereas the intermediate conveyor incorporating two endless conveyor mechanisms adapted to be driven at the same speed extends at least partly in an arc. This enables the two lateral inspection devices to check different peripheral zones of the bottles without the bottles rotating independently and the malfunctions thereby caused, so as to achieve a high level of inspection accuracy.

  • Patent number: 5491010
Abstract: Containers are transported on rotatable support plates which are arranged in a circle on a rotating turntable. The leading edge of a label is adhered to a container as it orbits past a vacuum-type label transfer drum. A curved guide which is tangential to the cylindrical body of the container as the orbiting and rotating container passes it causes the label to wrap completely around the container. One of a circular array of heat sealing elements which are rotating with the turntable adjacent each support plate is cammed radially outwardly of the turntable into contact with the region on the container where the trailing end overlaps the leading end of the cable. This fuses the ends of the labels together. The cam profile is adjustable in length to keep the time during which the heat sealing member is in contact with the label ends overlap constant independently of the rotational speed of the turntable.

  • Patent number: 5215762
Abstract: A nozzle for an injection molding machine with a common nozzle outlet chamber to control the injection of at least two plasticized plastic components in a mold, where each plastic component is produced in a separate plasticizing unit and each such unit is connected by the shortest path to at least one separate nozzle inlet which in turn is connected within the nozzle by means of a separate channel to the common nozzle outlet chamber. Each channel is provided with its own shutoff valve that can be actuated independently in such a manner that each infeed channel extends from its nozzle inlet in a straight line to the related shutoff valve, and from it in turn over an outfeed channel in a straight line to the common nozzle outlet chamber.

  • Patent number: 5116452
Abstract: Apparatus for applying labels to spinning and translating containers has a rotating vacuum cylinder almost touching the containers. The printed sides of individual labels are deposited on the vacuum cylinder at which time fingers grip the leading end of the label to prevent the label from being attracted to an ensuing glue roller which has plural annular grooves and applies a strip of glue to the leading end of the label. The leading and trailing ends are also held by vacuum devices which are cam driven to extend by a small amount radially of the vacuum cylinder. The fingers register in the grooves of the roller so they do not interfere. The label on the cylinder is carried on the cylinder and secured at its trailing end by its own radially movable vacuum device. When the trailing end reaches a second glue roller the latter device moves radially outward of the cylinder to pick up a strip of glue on the trailing end.

  • Patent number: 5001887
Abstract: A method for applying a shrink sleeve to the closure end of a conveyed container and apparatus for performing the method. Shrink sleeves supplied in the form of a hose are expanded over a mandrel which is disposed at an inclined position relative to the conveying direction of the containers such that the closure ends of the containers enter the lower open ends of the shrink sleeves as the containers are conveyed and before the respective shrink sleeves are cut off.

  • Patent number: 4928643
Abstract: A rewind or recoil starter for an internal combustion engine which is adapted to be coupled to the engine element to be started, and which is returned to its resting position by a rewind or recoil device after manual operation of its actuating structure and after the engine has started. A safety device in the starter is provided which, in the event of an unsuccessful starting operation and upon kick-back of the engine element against the starting direction, uncouples the actuating structure of the starter from the back-kicking engine element. The starter is equipped with a driven member rigidly seated on the engine element to be started, and with a driving member which, during starting, is driven by way of the actuating structure to drive the engine element in the starting direction.

  • Patent number: 4763823
Abstract: Apparatus for supplying tape from a roll with two alternately driven tape feed rollers and a motor driven drive system which produces a rotational movement has overrunning clutches arranged between the motor drive system and the tape feed rollers, respectively, said clutches making a continuous change of materials removed from a supply roll to another roll possible with a reversal in the rotational direction of the drive motor, whereby in one direction of motor rotation only one overrunning clutch makes a connection with its feed roller and in the other direction of motor rotation only the other overrunning clutch provides a rotational connection to its feed roller.

  • Patent number: 4594123
Abstract: A container labeling machine for applying one or the other of normal length body labels or extra-length boy labels has a rotating rotary table with container supporting controllable rotary plates. Adjacent its periphery is arranged a first labeling station for applying the normal length labels with a rotating labeling cylinder and a second labeling station for the extra-length labels with a stationary label container contacting the path of rotation of the containers. Two independent drives are provided for rotating the plates, one of which regulates the positioning and/or rotation of the rotary plates in the area of the first labeling station, and the second for continuous rotation of the rotary plates in the area of the second labeling station. The rotary plates are selectively connectible with the first or second drive. The two labeling stations and their common brush-on station overlap one another, whereby a very short total treatment stretch is possible.

  • Patent number: 4519186
Abstract: A device for slipping segments of film, such as originally flattened but tubular segments of plastic film, on vessels such as bottles. A rotor rotates about a horizontal axis. Sucker devices mounted on swivel arms and expanding mandrels are arranged alternately about the circumference of the rotor. The flat sleeve segments are fed toward the rotor and are attracted by a sucker device. As the rotor rotates from the position in which a sleeve is gripped by a sucker device the sucker parts spread to open the tubular sleeve and the arm carrying the sucker is caused to swing and turn the sleeve segment 90.degree. whereupon the sleeve is passed over the presently unexpanded mandrel which is circumferentially adjacent the designated arm and its suckers. The mandrel is caused to expand for holding the sleeve and the sucker is timely released.
