The stop surface extends in the direction of the transverse axis and is provided at an angle (alpha) of between 92° and 112° in relation to the longitudinal axis. In addition, the cutter is suitable for use in a cutter head having a carrier body, in which at least one radially outwardly open recess is provided for receiving a cutter and a clamping jaw which can be actuated by a clamping screw, and by means of which the cutter can be clamped in a fixed position in the recess. The recess has a stop with a stop surface that is directed radially inwards, and the cutter can be introduced into the recess against the force of at least one elastic element. The cutter can be applied, in a radially outward direction, by its stop surface to the stop surface that is directed radially inwards, by an elastic element.

  • Publication number: 20080260525
Abstract: A device for supplying pulse width-modulated output pulses for the motor of a fan has an arithmetic unit and at least one final output stage. The arithmetic unit and the final output stage are disposed in a rod-shaped housing. A fan encompasses a device that is located in a rod-shaped housing and is used for supplying pulse width-modulated output pulses.

  • Patent number: 7399001
Abstract: A rotary coupling has a nonrotatable stator having a stator passage with an end opening along an axis and a rotor rotatable on the stator about the axis and having a rotor passage with an end axially confronting the stator end. A rotor seal is rotatable with the rotor end about the axis, and a stator seal is rotationally fixed to the stator end and bears axially on the rotor seal. Thus the rotor seal rotates on the stator seal on rotation of the rotor. A strain element that changes size in response to temperature in the stator adjacent the seals is coupled to one of the seals for shifting the one seal relative to the other seal in response to temperature changes adjacent the seals.

  • Publication number: 20060017283
Abstract: The invention relates to a device for feeding a gaseous or liquid medium to a rotating pressurised system. Said device consists of a stationary sealing-head housing (1) comprising a connection opening (2) for the transfer medium said opening leading into a connection conduit (2.1) that runs in the interior of the sealing-head housing (1). The device also comprises a tubular rotor (3) that is likewise situated in the interior of the sealing-head housing (1), is connected to the pressurised system and is mounted on the stationary housing (1) by means of at least one bearing (4), preferably an anti-friction bearing. The end of the connection conduit (2.1) is also equipped with a stator seal (5) and at the end of the rotor (3) is provided with a new rotor seal (6), both seals (5, 6) lying coaxially with the rotor (3) and abutting one another with their front faces.

  • Patent number: 6933687
Abstract: A dual motor configuration 10 is provided for driving two fans for moving air to cool an engine. The dual motor configuration includes a primary brushless motor 18 constructed and arranged to be electronically controlled to drive a first fan 16 over a range of speeds. A secondary brush motor 24 is constructed and arranged to be electronically controlled to drive a second fan 22 over a range of speeds. The secondary brush motor includes an electronic switching device 26 associated therewith for receiving a pulse width modulated signal for controlling speed of the secondary brush motor. Thus, different combinations of speeds of the first and second motors can be selectively chosen to meet cooling requirements.

  • Patent number: 5156523
Abstract: A coupling for feeding a heat-exchange fluid between a stationary supply and a rotating body comprises a tubular rotor shaft fixed to the rotating body and rotatable about and centered on an axis and a nonrotatable housing fixed stationarily adjacent and surrounding the body. This housing is provided with an inlet connected to the supply and is formed with a passage permitting fluid communication between the supply and the body through the shaft. At least one roller bearing rotationally supports the shaft in the housing and outer and inner seals axially flanking the bearing define an annular substantially closed chamber containing the bearing and each seal between the housing and the shaft. The inner seal has an inner side exposed to the fluid and the outer seal has an outer side exposed to the surrounding atmosphere. A coolant is circulated through the chamber.
