  • Patent number: 4941391
Abstract: In an explosive powder actuated setting device, a driving piston (8) is displaceable between a ready-to-fire position and a fired position within a barrel (12) formed by a piston guide (5). When the piston is driven from the ready-to-fire position into the fired position, it is held by braking balls (17) supported in recesses (16) in the piston guide. As it moves into the fired position, the piston moves the braking balls into the range of a spring (18) which biases the balls inwardly against the shank (11) of the piston (8). When the piston is returned into the ready-to-fire position, the balls move out of the range of the spring releasing the biasing force acting on the piston shank via the balls.

  • Patent number: 4466384
Abstract: Product gas produced in a gasifier is cooled in a waste heat system consisting of a radiation part and a convection part connected thereto. The radiation part and the convection part each contain a pressure vessel with an insert provided therein at a distance. These are constructed by pipes welded gas-tightly together. The inserts are arranged removably in the pressure vessel. A free stabilization space is provided within the insert of the radiation part in the region of the gas inlet. Platen heating surfaces are located in flow direction of the product gas. The radiation part is provided separate from the gasifier and is connected thereto by a pipe conduit.

  • Patent number: 3931371
Abstract: An upright type spray attemperator for regulating the temperature of upwardly flowing superheated vapor and comprising a vessel fitted with an inner sleeve having a side outlet at the upper end thereof and containing a deflector adjacent the outlet to collect and return water droplets for further heating and wherein the outlet is formed of perforations sized to reduce the pressure of the steam passing therethrough so as induce flashing of any entrained water droplets and insure their complete vaporization.
