  • Patent number: 5143986
Abstract: Mixtures containing aromatic polyether ketones based on diphenols corresponding to formula (I) ##STR1## in which R.sup.1 and R.sup.2 independently of one another represent hydrogen, halogen, C.sub.1-8 alkyl, C.sub.5-6 cycloalkyl, C.sub.6-10 aryl and C.sub.7-12 aralkyl,m is an integer of from 4 to 7,R.sup.3 and R.sup.4 may be individually selected for each X and independently of one another represent hydrogen or C.sub.1-5 alkyl andX represents carbon, with the proviso that, at at least one atom X, R.sup.3 and R.sup.4 are both alkyl, and other organic polymers and films of these polymer mixtures.

  • Patent number: 5138031
Abstract: The invention relates to linear and branched poly-p-arylene sulfides (PAS), preferably poly-p-phenylene sulfides (PPS), which have an extremely low proportion of defect or foreign structures, to a process for their production and to their use for the production of molded articles.
    Type: Grant

  • Patent number: 5106906
Abstract: 37 Highly dispersed mixtures of at least two polymers which are not completely miscible in the melt under customary conditions are produced by melting the polymers used in the presence of supercritical gases or mixtures of gases, intensively thoroughly mixing the molten polymers for long enough until the viscosity of the melt has diminished by at least 10%, subsequently cooling the polymer melt with further thorough mixing, until the viscosity of the melt has at least reached the original value again and then depressurizing the polymer melt. The highly dispersed mixtures produced in this way can be processed in the customary manner into mouldings.
    Type: Grant
    Filed: September 22, 1989
Date of Patent: April 21, 1992
    Assignee: Bayer Aktiengesellschaft

  • Patent number: 5086157
Abstract: Polyether sulphones based on diphenols corresponding to the following general formula (I): ##STR1## wherein R.sup.1 and R.sup.2, independently represent hydrogen, halogen, C.sub.1 -C.sub.8 alkyl, C.sub.5 or C.sub.6 cycloalkyl, C.sub.6 -C.sub.10 aryl, or C.sub.7 -C.sub.12 aralkyl; m represents an integer of from 4 to 7;R.sup.3 and R.sup.4, may be selected individually for each X and independently represent hydrogen or C.sub.1 -C.sub.6 alkyl, andX represents carbon;with the proviso that, on at least one atom X, R.sup.3 and R.sup.4 both represent alkyl, the production thereof, films made from these polyether sulfones, composite films with other plastic materials and application of the films in gas permeation.

  • Patent number: 5064600
Abstract: The present invention relates to a process for the preparation of moldings or films based on polyisocyanate polyadducts comprising thermoplastically molding, at a temperature of at least 50.degree. C. and at a pressure of at least 5 bar, polyisocyanate polyadducts obtained by reacting in closed molds using the reaction injection molding technique aromatic polyisocyanates; compounds having a molecular weight of from 1800 to 12,000 and containing on a statistical average at least 2.5 isocyanate-reactive groups; and one or more components selected from a diamine containing two primary and/or secondary aromatically bound amino groups and and an aliphatic or cycloaliphatic polyol or polyamine; with the provisos that the quantity of isocyanate-reactive compound is at least 30% by weight based on the total quantity of the components and that at least one of the diamine, polyol, or polyamine components comprises at least 5% by weight based on the weight of the isocyanate-reactive compound.
