  • Publication number: 20230388063
Abstract: A user equipment is configured with at least two collections of uplink resources to be used for transmitting control information to a communication network. The UE receives an assignment of radio resources to be used for receiving a downlink transmission from a base station of the communication network. The UE receives an acknowledgement resource indication, ARI, indicating one of the configured collections of uplink resources to be used for transmitting control information associated with the DL transmission. Further, the UE transmits the control information to the base station on at least a subset of the indicated collection of UL resources. In example embodiments, the indicated collection of uplink resources comprises a plurality of selectable uplink resource sets. The control information is transmitted on one of the uplink resource sets which corresponds to an operational state of the communication network.

  • Patent number: 11817947
Abstract: A modulation technique, such as for example either Pi/2 BPSK or QPSK, is selected for transmission, based on a characteristic of the data to be transmitted, or the physical channel over which it is to be transmitted. The data characteristic may be the coding rate, or characteristics indirectly related to the coding rate, such as the number of coded bits or number of uncoded bits (payload size). The physical channel characteristic may for example be the physical channel bandwidth, the physical channel length, a number of physical channel modulation symbols, a number of the physical channel resource elements used for the data to be transmitted, or a number of the physical channel modulation symbols carrying the data to be transmitted.

  • Publication number: 20230362858
Abstract: Embodiments include methods performed by an integrated access backhaul (IAB) node configured for operation in an IAB network. Such methods include receiving, from an upstream node in the IAB network, first timing offset information related to communications between the IAB node and the upstream node. Such methods include transmitting a downlink (DL) signal to one or more downstream nodes in the IAB network. The DL signal is transmitted according to a DL transmission timing determined from the following: the IAB node's DL reception timing of a DL signal received from the upstream node; and a second timing value determined based on a first function of the first timing offset information, when the first function of the first timing offset information is greater than a threshold. Other embodiments also include IAB nodes configured to perform such methods.

  • Patent number: 11785524
Abstract: Mechanisms for efficient transmission of large amount of download data from a base station to a user equipment in a multi-carrier that minimizes power consumption on the user equipment are described. When multiple component carriers are to be used to transmit the download data, the base station informs the user equipment. The base station transmits on the anchor carriers without wait after informing the user equipment and transmits on the non-anchor carriers after waiting a predetermined delay. The predetermined delay provides time to allow the user equipment to activate the receiving resources and be ready to receive the download data over the non-anchor carriers. In this manner, the user equipment can be in a power conservation mode and activate the receiver resources only when needed.

  • Patent number: 11751158
Abstract: Embodiments include methods for downlink (DL) transmission by a network node in an integrated access backhaul (IAB) network. Such methods include receiving, from an upstream node in the network, first timing offset information related to communications between the network node and the upstream node. Such methods include transmitting a DL signal or channel, to one or more downstream nodes, based on a DL transmission timing for the network node. The DL transmission timing is determined from the network node's DL reception timing of signals or channels transmitted by the upstream node and a second function of the first timing offset information, which is determined based on a first function of the first timing offset information (when the first function is greater than a threshold) or on an alternate timing offset (when the first function is not greater than the threshold). Embodiments also include network nodes configured to perform such methods.

  • Publication number: 20230275731
Abstract: A node (100) of a wireless communication network manages sending of control information to a radio device (10). For a first frequency band, the control information indicates a first start position for transmission of a data channel. For a second frequency band, the control information indicates a second start position for transmission of the data channel. Based on the first start position and the second start position, the node (100) controls transmission of data on the data channel.

  • Patent number: 11743832
Abstract: Transmit power control methods and apparatus are disclosed. In several embodiments, a mobile terminal is configured to effectively ignore “UP” transmit power control commands in the event that the mobile terminal is operating in a power-limited state. In an exemplary method for controlling transmit power at a mobile terminal, a plurality of transmit power control commands are received. An accumulated power control value is adjusted in response to each transmit power control command that directs a negative adjustment in transmit power. However, the accumulated power control value is adjusted in response to a transmit power control command that directs a positive adjustment in transmit power only if the mobile terminal is not in a power-limited state. Transmit power settings for each transmission are calculated based on the accumulated power control value and the one or more radio link parameters.
