  • Publication number: 20240138775
Abstract: Systems and methods for identifying someone intending to leave a bed or chair generally before or shortly after the bed or chair is exited. These can allow intervention where necessary to prevent some falls before they occur. The systems and methods typically collect and aggregate real-time patient data to detect “attempted bed exits”—attempts made by a patient which indicate that the patient may be attempting to leave the bed or chair and, determine their risk for falling. Where done in real time, a patient making an “attempt” to exit can be stopped before or shortly after an actual exit is made, permitting staff to assist with, or prevent, the exit as necessary.

  • Patent number: 11957893
Abstract: A neuromodulation therapy is delivered via at least one electrode implanted subcutaneously and superficially to a fascia layer superficial to a nerve of a patient. In one example, an implantable medical device is deployed along a superficial surface of a deep fascia tissue layer superficial to a nerve of a patient. Electrical stimulation energy is delivered to the nerve through the deep fascia tissue layer via implantable medical device electrodes.

  • Publication number: 20240081748
Abstract: Systems and methods for the automatic assessment of a person's fall risk. The systems and methods utilize an objective standard and evaluation of a person's gait and stance, among other factors, to determine such person's current instantaneous likelihood of a fall, as well as such person's future fall risk. The systems and methods utilize machine observations and calculations to reduce or eliminate bias and the use of subjective assessment criteria.

  • Publication number: 20180130555
Abstract: Systems and methods for assisting in getting additional information to a triage nurse, or other healthcare individual who needs to triage or otherwise assess a patient, quickly. This information is generally obtained by performing automatic computer assessments of patients as they arrive at the emergency admission area and may be performed without the patient's knowledge such evaluation is occurring. This analysis can then be used to both directly provide additional information to a decision maker or can be used to provide specific gateways which, if passed, provide additional information.
