  • Patent number: 6629732
Abstract: The invention relates to a device for adjusting a seat back (6) of a vehicle seat (4), in which a drive (9) that carries out adjusting processes is integrated. This acts on stagger gears (10, 22), with which the seat back (6) is moved within a range of inclination (13). A torsion element (24) is provided between the stagger gears (10, 22) that compensates the clearance in the stagger gears (10, 22) within a first range of adjustment (18) of the seat back (6) and functions as support for the driver motor within a further range of adjustment (19) of the seat back (6).

  • Patent number: 6553866
Abstract: A drive system for adjusting parts of motor vehicle equipment, in particular parts of a vehicle seat, having an electrical drive motor (10) which includes a drive motor shaft (12) and a worm (14) disposed on that shaft, also having a mechanical adjusting device, which includes at least one worm wheel (16) cooperating with the worm (14), one coupling unit, and one power takeoff unit. • Patent number: 6501367
Abstract: A rotary angle encoder in which the adjustment of the sensor signal desired in the starting position can be changed by simple manipulation. In the rotary angle encoder set forth herein, upon assembly, the coupling is slid only partially onto a cylindrical shaft connected to the sensor part in a first position. In this first position, the coupling can be rotated in relation to the sensor part. Then the sensor signal desired in the starting position is set and after that, the coupling is slid still further onto the cylindrical shaft so that an unintentional rotation of both parts in relation to each other is not possible after the adjustment is complete. The rotary angle encoder is provided for controlling the power of a vehicle drive unit.

  • Patent number: 6446500
Abstract: In a pedal-travel sensor device with a kick-down mechanism, when the gas pedal is actuated, an electrical signal should be produced at the same time as a clearly perceptible jump in force. The pedal-travel sensor device proposed here is provided with leaf springs (5) which provide electrical contacts. As a result, the production of the electrical signal can occur completely without play and at the same time as the production of the jump in force. The clearly perceptible jump in force is provided by a spring biased detent means. The pedal-travel sensor device is provided for controlling the power of a drive engine of a motor vehicle.

  • Patent number: 6070490
Abstract: An accelerator pedal module actuated by the driver's foot for controlling the output of a driving engine. The accelerator pedal module includes a friction element for attaining frictional hysteresis directly at a bearing point on which the pedal lever is supported. The number of components required is thus reduced considerably. The accelerator pedal module is contemplated for controlling the output of a driving engine of the vehicle.

  • Patent number: 5934152
Abstract: An accelerator pedal modules for a motor vehicle which is actuated by the driver's foot. A sensor is disposed in a common housing together with other components, a restoring spring assembly, a kickdown mechanism and an end switch secured relative to the accelerator pedal and each other. The sensor is disposed in a separate housing, and by a suitable embodiment of the pedal lever, the accelerator pedal module can be adapted to a specific vehicle without modification of the sensor. This makes it possible to produce a standard sensor in large quantities. When the accelerator pedal module is activated the pedal activates the sensor which sends an electrical signal to a controller via electrical lines. The sensor includes a restoring spring which forces the pedal back to its normal rest position. The device includes a friction device which causes a friction in order to apply a force against momentum of the pedal. The controller controls an output of a driving engine.

  • Patent number: 5506502
Abstract: The invention relates to a rotary angle encoder for motor vehicle applications for pedal value transducers and clutch actuators. The rotary angle encoder includes a rotatably having a rotatably supported transducer shaft, which is coupled to a movable device so that it can be rotated thereby in accordance with the position thereof, and which cooperates with a rotary angle sensor that furnishes an electrical rotary angle signal. The rotary angle sensor includes at least one linear sensor coil, disposed stationary relative to the rotational motion of the transducer shaft and has a coil core retained displaceably in it. The coil core is displaceable by the transducer shaft via a crank mechanism, and the coil axis corresponding to the direction of displacement of the coil core in the sensor coil is disposed perpendicular to the pivot axis of the transducer shaft.

  • Patent number: 5426995
Abstract: A position transducer in which an external full-load stop of a pedal and a stop inside a housing for a transducer shaft is adapted to one another in such a way as to assure that a maximum allowable adjusting torque acting upon the transducer shaft will not be exceeded. According to the invention, in the transmission chain between a pedal, the actuating member, a transmission member embodied for instance as a Bowden cable, the driver member and the transducer shaft, a prestressed elastic element is integrated, which by way of example is disposed between the Bowden cable and the driver member and is embodied by the compression spring. To attain the prestressing of the compression spring, the driver member is supported on the actuating member. The compression spring prevents an impermissible adjusting torque on the transducer shaft. The position transducer is suitable for installation in motor vehicles, where it is used to convert a pedal position into an electrical adjusting signal.
