  • Publication number: 20230264824
Abstract: A flying vehicle with a battery pack associated with each propulsion module, not centrally located, that is plug and play, meaning it can be easily removed by hand and swapped with any other battery of same model and serial number and used within a propulsion module to power the propulsion system. The system includes battery management modules for monitoring battery pack voltage and evenly re-distributes power across all independent battery packs keeping each pack within relative voltage of each other. The packs within the vehicle are monitored for balancing so one pack cannot become too low in power as to not operate while the vehicle's other packs are still working.

  • Patent number: 4594795
Abstract: A cross-direction web dryer, for example, for a paper making machine, provides air bearing support for the moving web by use of an elongated structural member with dryer modules on one side of the paper and an elongated reflector unit on the opposite side. Each of these elongated members include solid barriers next to the moving web at least one of the barriers being transparent to the heat producing radiation and with both barriers having juxtaposed slits through which air is forced from a blower to provide the air bearing. These slits extend substantially the width of the support and are aligned in the machine direction of the moving web.

  • Patent number: 4509270
Abstract: A cross-direction web dryer includes a support structure arranged transversely across the moving web consisting of a pair of elongated support members each carrying side-by-side heater modules facing the moving web. This pair of structural members may be moved from the above operating position by a rotating and pivoting action to a stowed position where the heater elements are juxtaposed and co-extensive with one another to effectively thermally capture the heat of the heater elements. This reduces the heating up of the surrounding area while the heater elements cool down and prevents paper scrap and other flammable products from igniting that could create a fire hazard.

  • Patent number: 4494316
Abstract: A cross-direction web dryer includes a support structure arranged transversely across the web of moving paper. The drying apparatus has as its main structural support a large diameter structural member which is pivotally mounted on two end supports so that the associated cantilevered heating or drying modules can be rotated away from the moving web when desired. The structural member also provides an electrical wireway or conduit for the power cables to the individual dryer modules. Individual heater modules are arranged so that the cooling air enters a built-in plenum where air pressures are equalized for effective cooling of the quartz lamp heaters in the modules.
