  • Patent number: 7365622
Abstract: This publication discloses a switching device combination for capacitive loads (3) connected to a direct voltage. The switching device combination includes an actual switch component (1) for connecting voltage to the capacitive load (3), a charging switch component (2) for connecting charging voltage to the capacitive load in the initial stage, which charging switch component is dimensioned for a lower current than the actual switch component (1), a controller component (4), by means of which the actual switch component (1) is controlled from an open state to a closed state and vice versa, with the aid of a mechanical lever (5), which is connected to a first shaft (6), and delay elements (11) for delaying the connection of the actual switch component (1), so that the closed charging switch component (2) will have time to charge the capacitive load (3) before the connection of the actual switch component (1).

  • Patent number: 6628485
Abstract: The invention relates to an apparatus for limiting an electrical current by using a PTC resistor being monitored by a monitor circuit. According to the invention, the monitor circuit issues a signal only after detecting the status of the PTC resistor for a defined time period after a PTC resistance change.

  • Patent number: 6555984
Abstract: A system having an electric machine, memory device for storing information concerning the electric machine and is attached to the electric machine, and at least one control unit for controlling the operation of the electric machine. Furthermore, the system of the present invention has an interface between the memory device and the at least one control unit so that the at least one control unit reads the information stored in the memory device. The control unit processes the information read from the memory device such that the information becomes verified with default parameters of the system after read-out-thereof. In case the information includes parameters, which do not match in a predefined manner with the default parameters, the control unit is arranged to either automatically, adjust the system in accordance with the information received from the memory device or to prevent start-up of the electric machine or the entire system.

  • Patent number: 6492799
Abstract: An electrical monitor circuit in which star points of taps on a first and a second side of a three-phase current limiting device are voltage compared. Possible applications are combinations with electrical switches, especially for power supplying and protecting circuits for electrical motors.

  • Patent number: 6259349
Abstract: A description is given of a PTC polymer element (1) as part of an electrical component with a novel structure in which aperture angles (&agr;) on both sides of constrictions (2) in the PTC polymer material are at least 100°. As a result, an improved response behavior can be achieved, and, in connection with further features, the construction of PTC polymer elements which are more rapid, capable of carrying greater currents and have higher dielectric strengths is possible.

  • Patent number: 5424900
Abstract: An electronic auxiliary contact for a contactor has at least one switch element controllable to the conducting and non-conducting states for the purpose of indicating the position of the contact bridging member in the contactor, and a switch-activating element mechanically connected to the contact bridging member and capable of activating the switch element. The switch-activating element incorporates at least one activating element, and the switch-activating element makes no mechanical contact with the switch element. The system provides a reliable method of monitoring the operation of a contactor.
