    Abstract: Secondary cutting blades are mounted on a line trimmer between the hub carrying the cutting line and the shield. The cutting blades extend parallel to the axis of rotation of the hub carrying the cutting line. The blades have one end adjacent to the periphery of the hub, and the other end supported at or above the shield. Tall grass or other long stalks will therefore be cut by the blades and unable to wrap around the trimmer.
