  • Patent number: 4041834
Abstract: A threaded fastener unit and driver system for maximizing driving force distribution, the fastener unit having a composite head section comprised of a thin-walled uniform thickness plastic coating covering all surfaces of an enlarged head portion on a drilling or tapping device. The composite head includes internal torque transmitting surfaces formed by slots intersecting at generally right angles to one another forming four upstanding posts with a radially extending flange at the base of the posts. The fastener unit is configured so that the driving force distribution is maximized to eliminate damage to the plastic during installation of the fastener in a workiece.

  • Patent number: 4034532
Abstract: A clip assembly for securing abutting edges of roof deck panels together and to an underlying support structure in such a manner as to conceal the clip assembly and permit relative longitudinal movement of the panels to the support structure responsive to forces from thermal expansion or contraction. The clip assembly comprises a clip member and a foot member slidably interconnected by a hook on the foot member which is received in an elongate slot formed in the clip member. The clip and the foot interconnection includes means to center the two members relative to one another.

  • Patent number: 4029384
Abstract: The present invention relates generally to electrical connectors for accommodating insulated conductors and more particularly to improvements in clip type connectors adapted to penetrate or strip the conductor insulation and thereafter establish contact with the conductor wire as for example to provide positive grounding of a wire to an appliance panel at any position along the length of the wire. The connector disclosed herein includes a pair of adjacently positioned arms or blades bent upwardly from the margin of a sheet metal base. The outer extremities of the spaced edges of the blades are flared to facilitate initial reception of an insulated conductor and present oppositely disposed insulation penetrating means or cutters. The outer extremities of the blades are relatively offset laterally and means is provided for mounting the connector or clip upon the edge of a panel.

  • Patent number: 3998019
Abstract: A roof panel joint construction and clip device for use therein to secure abutting edges of panels so that the clip and associated fastener is concealed and so that the panels are capable of expanding or contracting longitudinally due to thermal changes. Abutting edges of roof panels are crimped together with a lip portion of the clip positioned therebetween while the clip is secured to a purlin with a flange portion of the clip including an elongated slot and a spring clamping member positioned between the head of a fastener and the flange.
